24 hour giveaway – Blogging tips get 24 prizes!

problogger-birthday-bash.jpgThis giveaway will run from noon Wednesday to noon Thursday (EST – New York, USA).

We’ve got a really great list of business/blogging related stuff to give away, and since we just love really great “blogging tips”, we thought it would be great to combine the two into one related giveaway!

First, the prizes up for grabs:

Yes, you counted right – there are 24 great prizes available for this giveaway! All of which are suited toward entrepreneurs, professional bloggers, and anyone who has a website of some kind!

How to enter:

All you need to do in order to win one of the great prizes above is to write a brand new (sorry, no archives allowed) post on your site that gives blogging tips. You may feel free to adapt it to the topic and style of your blog in any way you see fit, as long as it’s some kind of “tip” about “blogging”.

Some examples:

Are you a “mommy blogger”? Write a post tip about how to actively blog and deal with the bubblegum in your child’s hair at the same time.

Are you a “travel blogger”? Write a post tip about what someone traveling abroad might need to bring with them in order to”keep up the flow” of their writing/posting while away.

Are you a “foodie blogger”? Write a post tip about the best snacks to have at your desk for maximum food-to-brain flavor and power.

See? You don’t have to have a blog about blogging in order to enter! ;)

When you’re done, put the link to your entry in the comments below. Feel free to suggest what prize you’d most be interested in, and if the random generator chooses you, we’ll do our best to get you either that prize or one of the ones close to it. There’s no guarantee you’ll get the one you ask for – but we will do our best.

If you want your readers to know that you’re participating in this then please do feel free to link up so they can participate too – but it is NOT a requirement to link back to ProBlogger in any way.

Remember, this activity closes at noon on Thursday (EST) so get writing!

Notes: One entry per person (NOT per blog), and if you are chosen to win one of the above prizes, you will not be chosen to win anything else for the duration of the giveaway week.

These prizes not your cup of tea? Check out the other great prizes up for grabs during the giveaway!
Make sure you subscribe to the RSS feed to keep up to date on what’s going on!

Update!

All winners and sponsors have been notified by email! Go check your inboxes for an email titled “ProBlogger Winner!” (Make sure you check your spam boxes too, just in case.)

If you haven’t heard from me, please feel free to continue entering the giveaways!

Comments
  1. Can i post in bahasa indonesia?

  2. Hmmm…

I see your difficulty – you have a lot of prizes to award so you need to bundle them. However, while maybe half of these might be of interest to me, the rest definitely are not, so I won’t enter in hope of more attractive bundles later..

But here’s a question: are the sponsors absolutely linking these prizes to the winners? In other words, if I did win something I don’t want, can I give it away or sell it to someone else?

  3. Aristianto – I think it depends on what prize you wanted, but with a few exceptions I don’t think it’d be a problem based on where you live. There are only a few that are “mailings” or are geared toward people who only write in English.

Anthony – This is pretty much how it’s going to run, however this particular “pack” is the largest of any. Most of the others will contain only 3-5 I think with the exception of the cash one. I don’t suppose the sponsors would care if you kept your prize or gave it away or sold it, but in keeping with the overall “nature” of things it would be nice if people only won what they wanted… it’s kind of not fair for you to win something and then sell it when someone else who had entered really would’ve appreciated that gift.

Keep in mind that the winners are chosen at random. Our first giveaway had 12 winners out of over 750. The odds are different for each post of course, but it’s up to you how you want to “play the game” ;) This particular post/drawing is for 24 winners to win one of 24 prizes. You won’t get the whole “pack”, and as I suggested above, you’re more than welcome to tell us specifically which one you’d like to receive – knowing that there’s neither a guarantee you’ll win anything, or that you’ll get exactly the one you asked for.

  4. Do older posts count? This one is fairly recent and its a tip to bloggers (as well as regular sites too)
    http://www.tyleringram.com/blog/SEO-tip:-See-What-Search-Engine-Bots-See

The last contest let you use an older post (though I guess that was for those who were talking about all these contests in the first place right?

    =)

Lara Says:Great question – I’ll update the post… It does have to be a brand new post, no older ones. You’re correct, the last one allowed older ones because it was simply the one where people linked to the giveaway, and tons of people had already done that – we weren’t going to ask them to do that twice.

  5. “it’s kind of not fair for you to win something and then sell it when someone else who had entered really would’ve appreciated that gift.”

Absolutely agreed. I’ll pass on this one (too much I just have no interest in), but if I do happen to win something I don’t really want another time, I’ll give it back to you and you can select someone else who does want it.. fair enough?

  6. I’ve actually enjoyed looking at the sponsors trying to decide which ones I would like to win. This is kind of like deal or no deal, should I enter this contest or hold out for a better one. I have a feeling the best strategy would be to enter all of the contests until you win one. And be happy that you’ve won. Kind of like taking the bankers offer of 200,000$. Of course that strategy’s not for me. I’m holding out for the million dollars.

  7. http://www.mgroves.com/How-to-make-good-pancakes

I would like the 2 books by Kirsty

Lara Says: mgroves – there are two problems… that post is dated August 19th, and it’s got nothing in it that relates to blogging – it’s about making good pancakes.

Again, please read the contest rules, guys… this is very important!!

Lara Says: Thanks for posting these here Anurag, however I’m sorry, they will not be eligible to win in this giveaway, as we have stated that all submissions need to be BRAND NEW posts on your site. Regardless though, thank you again for posting the links so that others may find your posts on this topic!

    http://brandon-hall.com/janetclarey/?p=398

    Janet’s desired prize…custom logo design.

  31. I know this might be a strange question (and you may have answered it but I am having a understanding block) but there is only one thing that I would really be interested in having in this list. If I don’t get selected for that one thing, can I give back the other prize and you can give it to someone else and try for another prize in the future?

If the answer is ‘no, it doesn’t work that way’ that’s OK. I’ll wait for the next competition.

    smiles to you all…….

  34. http://charmcityscene.blogspot.com/2007/10/bogging-tips.html

I would be thrilled to win any of the prizes offerred.

  35. Aruni – It’d be great if everyone could help keep things flowing smoothly with the giveaways (ie. not getting a prize and then rejecting it – how “unsmooth” is that?), but all I can say is that IF you do enter into this, and IF the random number generator chooses your entry, I will do everything in my power to ensure you get the prize you ask for.

If we allowed people to continuously reject the prize they won, can you imagine how we’d have to handle that? It would be more than just you, so between writing all these posts for the giveaways (and we haven’t even hit the weekend series yet) and dealing with comments and spam and questions from sponsors, you’d want Darren and myself to go back over a prize that was already awarded and “re-pick” another winner? What if that winner decides they don’t really want it… vicious cycle, and so on and so on…

Things might be different if these were the ONLY 24 prizes we had to manage… there are 117 of them!

We encourage everyone to post on what they’d like a chance at winning, and we totally understand if you choose not to participate in a particular giveaway because you’re wanting a chance on something better.

  36. I’d really like a custom WordPress theme from Milo as I have not had time to design one myself!
