Win two 20″ LG USB monitors from DisplayLink in the Birthday Bash Giveaway!

problogger-birthday-bash.jpgThis one’s going to be open until 8am (EST) Friday, so you have PLENTY of time to enter, and it’s easy!

Prize Description:

Be one of the FIRST consumers to own not one, but TWO 20-inch FlatronWide L206WU USB-based monitors provided by DisplayLink!

displaylink-logo.jpgThese LG monitors are one of the first USB monitors out in the market powered by DisplayLink technology. DisplayLink believes professional bloggers and web users would really appreciate the ease and convenience of lots of screen real estate so you can spread yourself out and accomplish more and enjoy more. Because these LG monitors use USB, you simply plug the monitors into your laptop or desktop, and start blogging away!

DisplayLink Technology: FlatronWide L206WU USB-based monitors

How To Enter:

This one’s super simple… Spread the word about our little birthday celebration and just write up a post about the ProBlogger Birthday Bash and link to it. Then, come back to THIS post, and leave a comment below with the link to your blog post about the Birthday Bash, and after that link, the word “DisplayLink” (yes, it’s case sensitive, and once again is to help us choose qualifying entries as well as to help us get the valid comments out of Akismet easier).

Example comment:

DisplayLink

And for those of you who have already linked to the competition, simply place the link where you did it in comments below THIS post like outlined above and you still qualify!

Hopefully this competition will generate a little buzz and add a little value to our sponsors by bringing attention to the competition. Don’t worry – it’s the only giveaway that we’ll ask for a link back to ProBlogger – the rest will be different.

We will once again close off comments and choose one winner at random on Friday at 8am (EST). Winner will be notified by email, and will receive their monitors in 4-6 weeks.

Please note: If you enter for this prize and are chosen as the winner, you will not be eligible to enter for any future giveaways throughout the end of the Birthday Bash (with the exception of the final giveaway on Monday that everyone will be eligible for), so please make sure that you’re either willing to risk missing out on something else or that this was “the big one” you’ve been waiting for (keep in mind that over 700 people entered the first giveaway – so you’re not guaranteed of winning anything – it might be best to enter everything you have some interest in winning). You can always enter on the other posts between now and Friday morning, however if you are chosen for one, you will not be chosen for this one or any others.

Check out the full prize list and our previous giveaways thus far, here, here, and here.

And remember to subscribe to the RSS feed if you haven’t already! Coming this Friday will be several posts that are very time sensitive!

Update

We’ve closed off new entries and the winner of the monitors is Vincent Sparreboom!

  1. What about readers like me who have been reading the site and researching for the past 3 months, but haven’t yet launched a blog? I guess I am left out of the contest. :(

PS- This linking and massive amounts of comments is at least doing some SEO magic for problogger.

  2. Matt – please don’t worry – we have a bunch of stuff coming up that will simply require users to comment (as we had for the first giveaway) so it won’t matter whether you’ve gotten started yet or not. :)

  3. Darren

I won’t be entering this one. I do appreciate what a good resource ProBlogger is, but I think you’re wrong on this one.

You and I both know that *you* would never post a link to another blog on problogger to enter a competition. People listen to what you say, and all the good advice you give becomes meaningless when you use spammy viral tactics like this.

  4. Cool stuff..!! i want..!! i want..!!

  5. Also, thanks Dom and Darren for the discussion about the ethics of an entry requirement like this. I don’t feel like this is spammy in and of itself, but I just made a similar post right before this as a requirement for registering for a bloggers-only poker tournament. So I’ve decided that I must put a Plug Embargo on my website for a few months or else it’ll look like a big spam blog.

My thinking about this is “hey I do find Problogger’s content valuable and I’ve never given them a link before. Now seems like as good a time as any.” But what I should have done is reserved my entry post until I had a relevant illustration for it, so that people who come to my blog for the pretty pictures don’t feel alienated by my double ads. I think I’ll edit my entry posts later today so that I do that.

I’m drooling over these monitors! I could use at least 1 because I had to barrow a friends LCD so I wouldn’t have to look at my old CRT.

  7. Instead of giving two monitors two one winner. Wouldn’t it be better to have two winners here. Each receiving one monitor. Spread the wealth amongst the masses.

Lara Says: This is the prize that DisplayLink chose to offer, and the way they wanted to offer it. The point is to provide one consumer with two screens to have in addition to the one they already have. It makes for a nice balanced look, and if I’m not mistaken, these won’t work on their own, you have to have a regular VGA monitor or laptop monitor working beside them. I could be wrong, but I believe that’s the way they work.
