Product and Brand Names are Best Keywords

200610242119One of the simplest and yet most effective tips that I’ve got hidden away in my archives is one reflecting upon Product and Brand Names being the Best Keywords.

The study that I linked to that stimulated the post is no longer live but luckily I took a quote from it that pretty much sums it up.

While I’d already been using this tip in my blogging before I came across this study it has been a key to me earning a full time living from blogging over the past couple of years. By no means is it the only type of keyword to target when blogging – but it’s definately worth keeping in mind.

  1. Darren, I like the concept of reintroducing archives. I think I found another way for you to do this – with an added twist of course.

At this site ( http://www.titletrakk.com/railroad_spike_contest.html ) they offer up prizes for the first person to find a hidden graphic that was placed on their site, thus ensuring people will view many more pages to find it.

If you did this with your problogger archives, your page views would increase, we’d have further incentive to read your archives more than we already do, and you’d start something that would undoubtebly get picked up by other bloggers.

I know you have submission contests where groups offer prizes, so they could do the same thing with this concept. Have the contest once a week, once every other week, or whatever time frame you deem possible with your work load.

This will set a trend in blogging I believe; and if you do do this, let us all know how much your page views increased as a result.
    Regards
    Buck

  2. I’ve recently stumbled upon the brand name thing on my own blog. I wrote what I thought was a throwaway post on the Ford Taurus and it got linked to by Ford itself, on their Bold Moves website. I don’t get a whole lot of traffic but that one little post was pretty popular.

I’ve enjoyed reading your site and have checked into quite a few of your suggestions for monetizing a blog. Thanks for the info.

  3. Very catchy title. Product branding has been long neglected area in conception level in business. It can determine the future of the company business.

  4. Product branding is likened to giving birth to a business. Naming it or packaging it wrongly and you will see growth or stagnation in business.
