Internet Marketing Masterminds – A Course for Small Businesses Wanting to Grow Their Online Presence

Posted By Darren Rowse 30th of October 2008 Miscellaneous Blog Tips 0 Comments

Internet Marketing Masterminds
If you’re own or work for a small to medium business and are trying to get your head around how to use the internet, social media, blogging and other emerging online technologies to promote your brand, build income and drive sales then you should check out Internet Marketing Masterminds.

This course will kick off on 12th of November and is being put on by fellow Aussies Alister Cameron and Ben Galt from Australis Media.

Over the last year when I’ve been approached by businesses (large and small) wanting blog consulting I’ve referred them to Alister. The reports coming back from those I’ve referred over have always been really positive. He’s helped numerous businesses take their online presence to the next level. Internet Marketing Masterminds is designed to do the same thing.

There are limited places (150) and the pricing structure is one that goes up as places begin to fill (the earliest in get the cheapest rates).

The course spans over the full year of 2009 and includes monthly webinars, group knowledgebase, discussion forum and mailing list.

The curriculum covers a lot including starting blogs, social networking, internet marketing, developing killer content, SEO, Pay Per Click Advertising, Linkbait, Crowdsourcing, tools like YouTube, Flickr and Facebook and Analytics.

Who is this for?

This course is not really designed for beginner bloggers looking to grow their blogs (although I’m sure they’d learn a lot from it too). No – Internet Marketing Masterminds is a program for businesses owners (and employees) as well as SME marketers wanting to utilize the web to grow their businesses.

Update – Where is this course?

A number of those leaving comments seem to be under the impression that this is a course happening IN Australia. It’s not – it’s a virtual course, all done online. So while it is run by Aussies it’s accessible to anyone.

Update 2 – A ‘discount’

It was just pointed out that this course is being priced in Australian dollars. This means that it’s actually quite cheap at the moment for US people (and those in other parts of the world). The exchange rate at the moment makes it almost half price as the Aussie dollar last time I checked bought 60 cents.

  • wow darren this course absolutely useful to people like me.thnk darren for this info.well done.

  • darren i like to attend course like yours because i know there are a lot of knowledge that i will got.but not now.hopefully in the future.

  • This looks like an awesome event. I would love to attend something like this that covers all the different aspects of internet marketing. Unfortunately, it is a long ways for me to travel to check it out.

  • i hope many people will joint this course.I am sure this course will increase my knowledge if attend it and i will use it for my blog.

  • Ben

So this course is 100% web based? That seems like a pretty clever idea by them, especially if they market it well. They will market it well of course… they are the experts after all! The pricing seems very reasonable if you get in early. Thanks for the tip!

  • That sounds great,

I’m heading over there to sign up now. I’ve recently started my own computer company doing webdesign and hosting. So We are very online based. I’ve been blogging for a few months now and have learnt allot.

I’m always looking to grow my business and expand it to a stable state.

  • Seems like a pretty sweet deal. Every business in my “little” town could benefit from this.

I’m sending out emails now :)

    Dr. Ben

  • You Australians are sure dominating the blogging industry. It makes me jealous how smart you all are and how you get things done. I guess that’s the way it goes though. It just proves how driven you all are and how you support each other.

    Always jealous,

    Franklin Bishop

  • I’m currently in Yaro’s class and it’s been intrumental in making things happpen for my blog. Taking classes like this just take all of the guesswork out of it and allows you to concentrate on things that you know work and are proven that they work whichis important because no matter what course you take there is a lot of seat equity we put into our blogs. If Darren endorses it I’m sure it’s a home run.

  • Great information! I’ll have to look into it.

@Franklin Bishop I’ve noticed alot of big money making technology gurus do come from Australia. Must be a hard work ethic upbringing or something.

  • Wow this sounds awesome Darren! WIll you guys be offering an affiliate program? If so we would like to participate!

  • Looks quite interesting. I am definitly considering taking the course. Thanks for this post.

  • Sounds like a cool program but I think you could learn all of this stuff yourself by just searching about it and reading blogs.

  • Hi dareen,Glad to know that Aus Media is organizing this type of Institute for Bloggers as well as Webmasters.
    Thanks again

  • Note that the price is in AUD not USD so it is substantially cheaper than you may have thought. The program sounds good and I was able to sign up for one of the first few slots.

  • Looks like it’ll be a great course. Wish I could make it, but I’ll be busy during that time. Have fun to anyone who does go though!

  • Hey Darren!

Those fellas do know there stuff.

Yaro in particular, is really switched on +_+

  • Looks like its going to be tons of fun. Wish I could go, but being on the other side of the world it would be tough.

  • Justin Wright and MMO gold – this is a web based course, not in Australia. It’s as accessible for someone in the US, UK or Asia as it is for Aussies.

Josh – you’ll have to talk to Alister and Ben about affiliate programs. I’m not a part of the running of this so can’t answer that one.

Christopher – wow, didn’t notice that it was in Aussie Dollars – that almost makes it half price of people in the US!

Axel G – Yaro is not part of this course, it’s a different course to his.

  • Thanks for the post, Darren. Really appreciate it.

Folks, just repeating what Darren wrote, that this course is conducted entirely ONLINE. It makes sense to teach people Internet marketing by using the tools of the trade, right?!

So no matter whether you’re in Ireland, Israel, India or Idaho, this course is one you can get to…!

Second point, again repeating Darren, this course has nothing to do with Yaro Starak, for whom I have great respect. Yaro’s course is targetting different people, with blogging-specific content in a self-paced format (as best I know).

Our program is for business owners and marketers who need to get their online marketing activities up-to-speed with what they’re doing offline — sure, there’ll be some overlap, but I don’t consider him a competitor.

Finally, it’s a really privilege to know Darren and have his endorsement… something I do not take lightly. We’re working very hard here getting things in order for the November 12th launch, and I remind people that the pricing is staggered to reward early birds. And since it’s priced in Aussie dollars, you Americans and Europeans get a great deal :)

  • @Christopher Mendez – Welcome on board, mate!!

  • i am sure this course wil give a lot of benefit.

  • Hi Darren,
Somewhere in this post you opened the door for another option, too. You said the course might not be for new bloggers. But a mastermind group for new bloggers looking to expand traffic would sure be grand. Maybe you already offer one and I have to explore the site more, so I’ll go check. But it strikes me as a much needed service. Especially for not-so-tech-savvy new bloggers:)
