How to Use Google’s Wonder Wheel to Find Topics to Write about

Posted By Darren Rowse 31st of July 2009 Video Posts 0 Comments

Stuck for ideas to write about? Here’s a quick and easy to use tool from Google to help you identify topics within most niches.

View this video at full size to get all the visual details in the video here on Facebook.

PS: a number of people have been asking about how I made this video and what microphone I am using. The mic is a Rode Podcaster USB microphone which I only recently have received. It’s not a small microphone but the quality it has produced is excellent.

The software I used to record the video and screen capture is a Mac tool called ScreenFlow. This is the first time I’ve used it and I there’s a lot more I could have done with it – I’m still learning to use its features.

  8. Thanks, great tips
Global viewers need to type in google.com ; otherwise it does not show up in other google search sites
it does not work with google.be or google.fr

  9. What an awesome way to find topics. Could potentially be a good way to narrow down keywords too. Thanks for this.

  12. This is my first time hearing about Wonder Wheel so thanks for the tip. What I blog about can make it tough to find new topics so this is a great tool to use. I tried it out and being able to go deeper into topics is pretty cool. Thanks.

  13. Nice tool. Not sure when it showed up on my account but I’d never have thought to look for anything under the “Show options” settings.

  28. I’m off now to create a video about black and white portrait photography! Don’t know a thing about it, but hey, I’ll make it up as I go! How hard can it be? :)

  29. Sometimes I wonder why Google don’t make search options like that more obvious. I know there’s an options list, but I don’t think a lot of people look at things like that unless they’re open by default. (Or was it open by default and I closed it without thinking?)

  30. Wow what a great tool. Thanks man!

  31. Hi Darren,

Thank you for sharing this – you can never have too many methods to generate new blog post ideas!

Add this to finding ideas from other blogs in your niche, forums, Twitter and social media websites, anyone who claims they don’t have anything to write about should perhaps consider giving up blogging!!!
