Glen just wrote me an email to let me know about a post that he just published that researched how many times the Top 100 blogs at Technorati hit the Digg home page.
There’s a definite correlation there – particularly among the very top five blogs who make it to Digg’s home page 3600 times (that’s 45% of the total 8000 times that the top 100 blogs hit the home page).
Check out Glen’s full post here.
Thanks for link. A very interested article.
Yeah… Thanks for sharing Darren. Informative! It’s a good research.
Thanks for the link darren, ive had some really positive comments
It seems like nearly every article that sites like Lifehacker or Gizmodo publish gets dugg, and a good portion make it to the front page. Gawker Media must be doing something right.
Very true Mike, Engadget is no.1 and technorati and no.2 in terms of Digg’s
Darren,
You have to start wondering when the various Blog advertisers will start grading Blog traffic and viability on DIGG front page hits versus Alexa.
Taylor
A Taylor – Digg is a minnow compared to sites like MSN. Get linked on the MSN front page sometime and watch your server melt – trust me.
you’re right Trent – my biggest days of traffic didn’t come from Digg or any other site but the day that one of my blogs was linked to from Yahoo’s front page. It was only for a few hours but it created such a massive burst of traffic that it scared me.
That is truly injustice, because there may be waiting much more important news waiting to be on the front page of digg, putting same people on the front page on the digg is discouraging.
