200612181504It’s time for another ProBlogger Group Writing Project – and this time we’ve got 10 prizes worth between $2000 to $2500 USD!

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE SUBMITTING. Particularly pay attention to the instruction to submit NEW posts not previously written ones. Old posts (written before today) won’t be accepted and will not be eligible for a gift. Thanks for your understanding.

The Topic

This project’s topic is ‘Reviews and Predictions…….’

Your task is to write a post that looks back or looks forward (on what is up to you).

  • You might want to look back on the year that was (topical for this time of year)….
  • You could make some predictions about what the new year will bring in your niche….
  • You could look back on some aspect of your life….
  • You might use the post to make some resolutions for the year ahead….
  • You might like to give an award for the last year to someone in your niche….
  • You might look back on the 10 biggest developments, 5 biggest mistakes, 72 best quotes…. of your niche….

Write it in any style you like, a rant, list, poem, video, pictorial, haiku, podcast….. anything

Be as creative as you can and take this in any direction you like. You’ll have a much better chance of getting your post noticed if it’s useful and/or interesting to readers and write something relevant to the topic of your blog.

  21. […] 20 Dec 2006 5 Reasons Why Filipino Bloggers Will Make it Bigger in 2007 Posted by rnoldz under Web Life  While everybody else joining Probloggers group writingproject on reviews and predictions, are writing on general topics and ideas, let me be regionalistic on my entry for this contest by writing about Filipino bloggers. Why? Because I am a Filipino, a blogger, and hoping to make it big in the blogging world someday. Enough said, here are five reasons/prediction why I think Filipino bloggers will make it bigger in 2007.1 )  2006 was a great time for Filipino bloggers whether based in the Philippines or anywhere else. More and more Filipino bloggers have joined the ranks of full time network bloggers in various worldwide blogging networks. The most recent of which was of course the heralding of the Blog Herald by none other than top Filipino Pro-bloggers Abe Olandres and J. Angelo Racoma. […]

  30. Seven Sustainability Predictions for 2007…

  31. […] Darren from ProBlogger is having another Group Writing Project and, of course, I’m submitting a post. This time, the subject is Reviews of 2006 and Predictions for 2007. The deadline for entering is midnight Thursday, December 21 and Darren is kind enough to accept submissions according to your time zone. […]

  32. […] Darren Rowse at Problogger is once again holding a writing competition for bloggers. His last competition, on How Tos, was held just after I started blogging, and I entered a post I wrote called Account Security. This time around, the topic is about Reviews and Predictions. It’s pretty timely. As I’ve been thinking about what to write on this subject, it occurred to me that I’ve also been thinking a lot lately about where I want to go with this blog and the web. It seems a perfect match up. […]

  33. […] The year didn’t get off to a good start as far as the blog was concerned, due to a major upgrading disaster. Lesson learned: never try to do major blog platform upgrades while you have the flu. I was honored to host the New Blog Showcase for 7 May of 2006, and would like to do that again in 2007. It gave me the opportunity to spread the word about new blogs, as well as find some new ones to add to the blogroll. I participated in this year’s CSS Reboot in the spring, and hope to do so again in 2007, this time with a little more theme work. As far as site statistics go, I’ve doubled my traffic from last year’s numbers, and I’m grateful for everyone who stops by. I’ve also been able to bring in a little advertising, and I hope to fine-tune that in 2007. I’ve also met a lot of interesting bloggers, at least as far as online is concerned. For 2007, I’d like to look into coming up with a Customerservant.com logo as well, and I’d like to include more images within posts. I’d also like to offer a sincere thanks to my readers. Without you guys, I’d just be talking to myself. Come to think of it, maybe this blog reflection stuff isn’t such a bad idea after all. This post is part of Problogger’s latest group writing project. He’s still taking submissions, and there are some cool prizes being offered, plus links, so consider participating. Filed in Personal log […]

  35. […] This post is written specifically for Problogger’s Group Writing Project, and this is my second time participating in the group project organized by Darren Rowse of Problogger. Check out my posts for my first time involvement in the Group Writing Project. I must say, the excitement I got from just being part of the project was just too good to be true and simply couldn’t be expressed in words. If you own a blog, you should not miss the project that gives you excitement and joy not so much on the prizes to be won, but the sense of togetherness and friendship in the blogosphere and the traffic that it brings to all blogs involved in the project. Darren Rowse, the you rock. […]

  39. […] Darren over at Problogger is having another writing contest, so here is my thoughts on the 2007 year, the year of the Ebay Hustler!  During 2006 there was a lot of talk about the large number of powersellers leaving Ebay due to the increase in fees, most notably the increase in Store Inventory fees.  While this might be true, it is easy to see that more and more people are joining the seller ranks of Ebay.  Almost everyone that you talk to has some sort of story about how they sold something on Ebay and made some nice extra money.  Even my mother has located profitable items for me to list on Ebay.  The best item was one of those old rotary dial telephones that people practically give away; if you find one in mint condition they can easily fetch over $50!  People are starting to catch on to this Ebay thing, that’s why the profits for these powersellers are dropping.  2007 will see far more people hustling for some extra cash.  If you want to become an Ebay Hustler, here are some excellent tips: […]

  50. […] 2006 has been another huge year for the Internet, and the general growth of ecommerce and Web 2.0.  With only a few days left before 2007 hits us, I thought it would be a good time to reflect on 2006, and at the same time participate in the ProBlogger Group Writing Project.  Initially I planned on creating a post of the Top 25 online news stories in 2006, but I quickly realized that such a post would be a daunting task, and would undoubtedly omit several key stories.  I then came up with the idea of creating a list of the Top 10 Unexpected News Stories on the WWW in 2006, and created a list of 40 or so stories that could be considered for the list.  It was a tough job narrowing down the list, but anyways here it goes:10.  Google Enters Domain BusinessGoogle has always been a major player in the search engine and online advertising businesses, but by entering the domain business they opened up a number of new possibilities and opportunities for growth in 2007. 9.  Google Launches Google CheckoutPayPal finally has a rival in the online payment industry that has the budget and the manpower to gain a significant market share.8.  MSN Search Replaced by Live.com SearchMSN Search is replaced by Live.com, as Microsoft looks to changes its online image, both as a search engine and advertising giant.7.  iTunes Offers TV Shows and Movies for DownloadApple signs contracts with the major television networks and movie studios to offer a new mainstream alternative for users to watch media on their computers, and on the go through their iPod’s.6.  Bill Gates Announces he Will Leave Microsoft in 2008The founder of Microsoft and arguably one of the most powerful men in America, announced that he will step down from his roles at Microsoft in 2008, raising the question of what a Bill Gates-less Microsoft will look like in years to come.5.  Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo Agree on Standardized Sitemap ProtocolGoogle, Microsoft, and Yahoo have hardly ever agreed on subjects in the past when it came to search, but by agreeing on a standardized sitemap protocol, it opens up the possibility of future joint ventures and policies, which could significantly improve the internet as a whole.4.  Yahoo Answers Forces the Closure of Google AnswersYahoo Answers outperformed all expectations, as 60 million users signed up within the first year, and 160 million answers were written.  This free service by Yahoo forced Google to close its own paid answer service, Google Answers, and has tremendous potential to continue growing in the coming years.3.  The Million Dollar Homepage is CompletedWhen the Million Dollar Homepage was first launched by Alex Tew, many bloggers, including myself passed it off as a pathetic attempt of begging for money, and something that would never succeed.  Boy was I wrong!  The Million Dollar Homepage not only made the million dollars that it set out to (and more if you count the final eBay auctions), but it was covered by media outlets throughout the world, and even has become popular enough to warrant copycat sites.2.  Google Purchases YouTube for $1.65 billion dollarsYouTube quickly became one of the most popular websites in 2006, especially among the younger demographic, and that is in part why the Google acquisition was such a surprise.  Frankly, $1.65 billion dollars is a lot of money, but it very well may pay for itself in the future for Google if they are able to successfully integrate video advertising on the site, and consequently offer this new platform of advertising to its existing advertisers.1.  Skype Offers Free Outbound CallsFor years, VOIP has been deemed the next great thing, but unfortunately high costs and unreliable service have deterred people away from it.  In 2006 Skype made a revolutionary move in offering free outbound calls and greatly improving its product.  In 2007 they will begin charging for their service, but after this amazing offer I would not be surprised at all if within 5 years over half of tech savvy internet users cancel their landlines, and switch to a VOIP service such as Skype.
