It’s our birthday – ProBlogger.net was 3 years ago today when I transfered all of my blog tips from a subdomain on another domain that I’d been collecting them all on for a year or so.
For those of you waiting for the ProBlogger birthday competition that I’ve been gathering prizes for – I’m hoping to launch it next week once I’m back from my time away.
In the mean time – if you’re a ProBlogger regular – crack open a bottle of your favorite beverage, help yourself to a ProBlogger birthday cup cake and celebrate with me.
It’s been a big year on ProBlogger. New Job Boards, new design, lots of new readers (we’ve doubled last September’s traffic already this month and RSS subscribers are three times higher) and over 1300 posts and around 25,000 comments (that last one’s a guess).
Thanks to everyone for your support. ProBlogger would not be what it is becoming without a fantastic community of readers, commenters, guest posters and linkers. I appreciate you all and hope that you’ve benefited by being involved this year.
Here’s 10 of my personal favorite posts from the last year (listed in no particular order):
- 5 Things You Should Know about my Dad the ProBlogger
- 10 Ways to Hurt Your Blog’s Brand by Commenting on Other Blogs
- Create a Sneeze Page for Your Blog
- 31 Days to Building a Better Blog (a series which contains some of the more practical tips from the year gone by)
- First Impressions Matter on a Blog – Video
- 23 Ideas for Finding New Readers for Your Blog
- What a Bhuddhist Monk Taught Me about Blogging
- How to Make Your RSS Feeds POP – a Series
- How Not to Become a Grumpy Old Blogger
- 9 Attitudes of Highly Creative People
Of course this year ProBlogger had around 1300 posts published so the above just scratches the surface and I’ve skipped over quite a few others that I really enjoyed writing.
If you’ve got another one from the last year from our archives that I missed feel free to suggest it in comments below and if I get enough responses I’ll compile a reader’s best of list too.

Darren — Happy B-Day and congrats. Problogger is truly one of the best sources on the Internet for help with blogging. I have been blogging now for almost 3 years. Problogger has always been the place I go for help. Thank you and I look forward to many more years of Problogger.

wishing you continued success for many years and beyond!
Happy Birthday ProBlogger ^_^ Wish you best of luck. Way to go !
Happy 3 years Darren! Of course you realize that those 3 years were only a practice run right? Now you’re really going places haha. Congrats.
Happy Birthday ProBlogger. I owe you a lot! It helped me getting in touch with other fellow bloggers who share similar interest.
I am unsubscribing because I’m tired of being forced to repeatedly scroll through long, full posts when I’m not interested in reading that particular post.
I understand why some want full posts, because there’s a ‘few’ blogs I read every word written. But I only read the ledes in the majority of my subs to see if I want to read more. Thankfully, most of my subs have enough smarts to offer both types of feeds to appease both preferences.
Be well, till later (maybe).
Happy Blog Birthday, Darren…
What is your wishlist?
Wow, that’s a great accomplishment. I think a lot of people forget this blog has been online for three years. Most see you doing so good and think they’ll start a blog and instantly share the same success.
Thanks for the favorite posts from the year. I enjoyed them.
Happy Birthday ProBlogger! continue like this, congratulations ;)
Congratulations on the anniversary! 1300 posts?? I wonder how many books of work that would be… xD
Congratulations on the anniversary.
A whuffie for you!
Wish I could say I had been here the whole time but I’ve only been reading a year and a half.
Congratulations. I hope the next three years are even better!
Woo hoo! Abeer has been cracked. Cheers.

OMG! I thought when it’s your birthday, people are supposed to give YOU gifts. You’re not supposed to give us the gifts! I’m actually so grateful for what you have provided for your readers while commemorating your blog’s birthday. I don’t quite know what to say except… thank you so much and I wish I could hug you, wish you Happy Birthday, and thank you so frickin’ much for sharing so much of your past year that I know I missed! I’m sure there will be things you missed, and I haven’t read the other comments yet, but you captured a lot of great stuff there my friend! Happy Birthday, Problogger.net, you sweetie! Now that I’ve made a fool of myself, against your advice for leaving comments on other blogs, I’m going to say it was worth the risk! :)
