Location and Keynote for PBEVENT 2015
February 13, 2015 By Darren Rowse
We know you’ve been pretty keen to get the details on this year’s event, and believe me, we’ve been busting to tell you!
Well, today’s your lucky day! We’ve got three major announcements regarding location, an outstanding keynote speaker, and how and when you can get your tickets.
14-15th August, 2015.
Where is it already?!
We know you’ve all been keen to find out the location for this year’s ProBlogger Training Event. After a fairly big but ‘cosy’ event experience at QT last year, we realised we’d outgrown those fun and quirky digs and it was time to find a new home.
We know a big part of attending our event for you is the opportunity to connect and celebrate your community. We listened and set off to find something we could make into our village, rather than take a (somewhat corporate feeling) leap into a big convention centre.
Well, it seems we can’t stay away from the Gold Coast! The view is a little different this time as we settle back away from the bright lights and find ourselves some room to breathe, relax, connect and reflect as a community.
RACV Royal Pines Resort will be the new ‘village’ for the ProBlogger Community’s 2015 Training Event. It feels good to partner with an organisation that values it’s community members as much as we value ours.
The five star resort is set in the heart of the Gold Coast, midway between the action of Surfers Paradise and the tranquillity of the Hinterland rainforests. A recent multi-million dollar upgrade has transformed Royal Pines into a fully integrated resort with state of the art conference facilities, eight restaurants, bars and the incredible new One Spa. It’s the perfect place for giving our event room to grow whilst maintaining the intimate and friendly feel you’ve all come to value.
Our first international keynote speaker
It is with great pride, pleasure and excitement that we bring one of the early pioneers of blogging to Australia.
Heather B. Armstrong – Dooce – is widely acknowledged to be one of the most popular bloggers in the world. She has more than 1.5 million followers on Twitter and was recently named by Forbes Magazine as one of the 30 most influential women in media, along with Diane Sawyer, Kelly Ripa and Oprah Winfrey. Time Magazine has twice listed her website as one of the 25 best blogs in the world.
Heather’s keynote The Courage of Compassion: Transforming Your Experience with Criticism is one all bloggers will relate to. For more information about Heather and her session check out her speaker profile.
We look forward to welcoming Heather to Australia!
Ticket Sales Information
Being on our email list is the best way to stay up to date with the latest on ticket news. Make sure you also join our FB group so you don’t miss out when tickets go on sale!
So what do you need to know?
***When can you get your tickets?
There will be just one release of tickets on the 19th March at $399 for two full days of training, lunch, refreshments, Friday networking event and audio recordings. While moving to our new venue allows us to grow slightly, with nearly 1000 members in our Facebook event group and many more on our email list you’ll need to be sure to get your ticket quickly!
***When can you book accommodation?
We recommend you wait until you secure a ticket to the event before booking your accommodation. We’re holding a block of rooms at the venue with special room rates and packages. Full details for accommodation bookings on the Destination page.
Now might be a good time to look for someone to share a twin room with you if you want to save costs. It’s a great way to create valuable blogging friendships.
***When should you book your flights?
Again, we strongly recommend waiting until you get your PBEVENT ticket before booking flights. In the meantime, keep an eye on airfares and discounts with our friends Virgin Australia. Their Happy Hour is every Thursday 4-8pm AEST. Sign up to Virgin Australia V-mail Sales Alerts to be the first to know about their latest specials and we’ll let you know if there are any other available specials for our attendees.
You’ll probably want to arrive Thursday morning and fly back Sunday afternoon to make the most of the event….more details to be announced about the full schedule soon.
Until then, we’ll see you in the Facebook Group.
