PBEVENT Speaker Announcement: Amy Porterfield

March 5, 2013 By

As we approach the launch of our Early Bird Tickets for PBEVENT 2013 (details below) this week I thought I’d let you know about some of the speakers we’ve already booked for our September event.

Lets kick things off with one of our international guests.

Introducing Amy Porterfield

I know Amy is familiar to some of you (she’s always one of the most requested speaker requests we get) but let me tell you a little about why she was at the top of my list of international speakers to invite to this years event.

Amy Crashed our Webinar System

amy_porterfield.jpgI’ve had quite a bit of interaction with Amy over the last few years but one moment stands out above all others – the day she completely crashed our webinar system!

It was around 2 years ago and we had booked Amy to speak at a ProBlogger webinar on the topic of how bloggers could use Facebook to grow their blogs. I knew the session would be popular but didn’t realize just how popular!

To cut a long story short we had thousands of people attempt to squeeze into a webinar that could only hold 1000 people – and the system overloaded.

Once we got things restarted Amy delivered one of the most information packed and valuable webinars I’ve ever been to. It was so good that word spread of it and the replay of it became the most listened to webinar we’ve ever recorded.

I’d Sit on the Floor to Listen to Amy Teach

A year later I bumped into Amy at Blog World Expo in Los Angeles – where we were both speaking. I snuck into the back of Amy’s PACKED workshop room and found a spot on the floor in a corner.

While I couldn’t see Amy or her slides that day I managed to take 3 pages of notes from her teaching and immediately implemented some of her Facebook strategies on my dPS Facebook page (in fact one of them led to our most commented upon Facebook update ever).

Practical, High Value and Genuine

Just as she did in her webinar – that day at BWE Amy packed her session full of valuable and practical content. It was my favourite session of the conference that year.

Best of all – Amy is one of the most genuine, down to earth and lovely people you’ll meet. There’s no hype – just a genuine interest in helping people and so much great teaching.

As our events are very much about ‘training’ bloggers we’ve had Amy on our short list of international speakers for a couple of years now and I’m excited to have her travel into the Gold Coast from California to speak at a couple of sessions this year!

We’re still finalising our schedule for this year’s event but we anticipate Amy will be involved in 2 sessions.

One will definitely be a ‘Facebook for Bloggers’ session but while Amy is known as one of the best teachers on Facebook going around (she wrote Facebook for Dummies and speaks regularly on the topic) there’s a lot more to her than that.

She’s created some great products, established an excellent brand and is experienced in helping develop some great social media strategies so we’ll be working with her to put a second session together too (more details to follow).

Early Bird Tickets

Next week we’ll be launching a limited round of Early Bird tickets for our September event.

Tickets will include:

  • two full days of training on 13-14 September at the wonderful QT Hotel on the Gold Coast
  • a light standup networking breakfast on day 1
  • lunch and morning and afternoon tea on both days of the event
  • entry to the Friday night Gala party (including drinks and some yummy food)
  • the PBEVENT virtual ticket (audio recordings of most sessions, any slides used plus a closed Facebook group – value: $249.99)

Of course you’ll also be spending 2 days with 300+ of Australia’s most amazing bloggers who will be attending as speakers and guests!

PLUS Bonus Pop-Up Experiences: Tourism and Events Queensland will be offering a limited number of free Pop-Up Experiences the day before and after PBEVENT.

While we can’t guarantee everyone a spot at a Pop-Up Experience many of this year’s attendees are making the most of us being on the Gold Coast to spend a few days before and/or after the conference for a bit of Rest and Relaxation.

PRICE: The regular price for this years event will be $349.99 but next week’s Early Bird tickets will be released at just $299.99 – a saving of $50.

To be notified of when the tickets go on sale make sure you’re signed up to our email notification list by adding your email address below.

Stay tuned in the next day or two for more speaker announcement!
