Today the recently announced Google Affiliate Network (formerly DoubleClick) launched a new interface to publishers. You can access it at Connect Commerce.
The look and feel of the site is very ‘Googlesque’ and at a first look it all seems fairly straight forward to use.
Ultimately the interface is secondary to performance so we’ll see how it goes in the coming weeks.
Are you promoting any products from the Google Affiliate Network?
I’m not promoting any of their products — which doesn’t mean that I won’t do it in the future.
As for the site’s appearance… well, I love that typical design style that Google applies to all of its products and services. The little guys and gals — i. e.,most of us — should pay attention to what they do and learn with them.
hmm… i’d like to say that i was promoting their products, but honestly i’m dubious of affiliate marketing. it’s a lot of work, setting up the links properly, (static affiliate ads don’t work for me) and aside from ebay, i’ve never made any real money from affiliate programs.
but we’ll see that might change.
im very suprised google did not just bring the affiliate game into the adsense for referral thing. for some reason i love adsense for referrals alot and am a bit teary eyed. ill try to get into this game nevertheless and ill promote google. i dont care as long as there is money in the long run. a silver lineing if you will.
those pictures show some amazing advertising that im sure could be a secret weopon of the expert blogger… for people like darren and his readers!
I was one of few who some success with google products, WOuld be interested in hearing whether this offers good returns.
As a publisher, it is simply more content for you to generate revenue from. Where’s the worry with that!
Your 7 day EPC is not looking too hot Darren.
Only joking!
I’m going to give it a try as a publisher first and see how it goes from there. If good I’ll give it a try promoting some affiliate products to driving traffic to mail signup pages.
It will be interesting to see how (or if) Google helps optimize offers for your site to maximize revenue – such as split testing what ads to show on your site automatically.

I have not been approved to this affiliate network but frankly I think it is an interesting idea to run a separate network, not just adsense referral anymore. However, I am sure if our referred publishers previously disappear after August and our commission too. What do you think?
Is this offer open to all countries? I would be really happy to test their products ;)
I can’t believe I didn’t realize that Google had an affiliate network. I mean I obviously knew about Adsense. How are the commissions? Anyone have any success with this?
Hey, I didn’t know about this either, but I’m intrigued. I’ll have to go check it out and experiment.
I had applied for the google affiliate program around a week back, and only yesterday I got an approval.
Would check it out now, and see what products it offers.
I wasn’t making much with the AdSense Referral program, so this would be a welcome change for me!
I was a part of the google adsense program but have gone to more direct link advertising. I currently have one button that advertises the google firefox bar but I am definitely wanting to look into google’s new program. Looking forward to your review.

Haven’t gotten around to testing it yet and don’t think I’ll do particularly soon either, but who knows one day in the future.
And that design is indeed very “Googlesque”, lol. Sometimes I wonder if Google is ever going to be coming with a redesign and if so, how the hell would that look.
Gotta Check out google affiliate hope to hear good things about them in the near future!

Hmm, sounds very interesting. thanks for sharing, checking it out now.
I am interested to join Google Affiliate network because they have products I want to promote.
Yet another awesome post Darren! Great stuff, just fininshed applying! I wonder what it looks like and the types of products they will showcase on our websites…. Hopefully the price offering is attractive! I’m really looking forward to this! :)
Like LadyCoveted,I’ve had the most success with eBay’s aff program above all others, but I’ve also heard you can’t go wrong with the Big G so I signed up…let’s see how it goes.
Part of the problem with the old referrals was that they had a lot of companies that nobody heard of. Most people won’t buy something from someone they have never heard of before.
They need major businesses on there. You can’t just have sites that someone runs from their basement.
I’m going to try it once I get accepted. I’ll write a blog about how it goes after that.
Thanks for your news.
Is anyone currently using the new interface? I like the look of it, as said very google-esq. I bet they are having an influx of signing up.
I loved it, its having all the product i want to promote, thanx darren it another important post.
I think goods news for publisher and more chance and place to promote…thanks for posting
I am currently going through the process of applying various merchants that have joined Google’s affiliate network. I was approved for Barnes & Noble and PC Pitstop about two months ago, and earlier today I applied to several others. I wish that Google’s interface would allow us to sort the merchant lists by actual commission percentage, however, not just estimated EPC.
Is there any example sites that use Google Affiliate Network? I heard it is like Amazon’s Associates.
