ProBlogger Visits Google Tokyo

Posted By Darren Rowse 24th of February 2006 Pro Blogging News 0 Comments

Search Engine Journal’s Loren Baker has just sent me a picture of him wearing a ProBlogger T-Shirt on his recent visit to Google Japan’s offices.

Very cool!

I always said if a reader sent me a picture of them wearing one I’d link up so here’s a link to a blog called Kent Island News that Loren has asked me to link to.

PS: these PB T-Shirts are no longer available and so Loren has the distinction of wearing a one of a kind (actually there are probably only about 5 of them in the world). He could probably sell it on e-bay for at least a quarter of what he paid for it!

  • Wow, amazing pictures! I recently saw a couple more pictures inside Google recently in Time magazine, but it must be fantastic to actually go there in person.

  • wow, that shirt looks good inside google’s office. ^_^

  • Wow, so it sounds like I have an XL chunk of gold at my disposal. Why? I’ll tell you.

To the best of my knowledge you have featured the pics of only two Probloggers who bought the shirts and sent in the image.

Getting covered on is awesome for almost any professional blogger for coverage, traffic and not to mention PageRank.

I bet, the right Problogger could make a decent profit from renting the shirt from me, for $100. Then they send you the pic, and gear their blog up for the traffic.

Example, On their blog they have a blogger friendly ‘contest’ or blogalong, like “Send in Your Blog Office Pics” of homeoffices or where people blog. The other Probloggers and trcikle down blogs which cover your content then link to the T-shirt renter’s blog, which leads to 2nd and 3rd tier link bait.

If that person had a blog on say, Telecommuting, the incoming links would be incredibly relevant in the eyes of Goog or other SE’s, extremely helping with the ranking of that site for future years to come.

Now that I’ve given away the idea, it should now be nullified, but I bet I could rent or sell your shirt (well, my shirt) for a pretty penny if this was the marketing concept behind the sale.

Or, maybe I’ll keep it and wear it if I ever venture down to Oz.
