PayPerPost Inc Changes It’s Name to IZEA

Posted By Darren Rowse 1st of November 2007 Pro Blogging News 0 Comments

Picture 2-15I just got my hands on a press release that announces that PayPerPost Inc is changing it’s name to IZEA.

IZEA will be the parent company for the different services that PPP has been operating including PayPerPost.com, Zookoda.com, BloggersChoiceAwards.com, RockStartup.com, RSSBrief.com, URLBrief.com and BlogInSpace.com.

PayPerPost will continue to run as a service – it’s really just a launch of the parent company – probably a good move as PPP has a fairly fragmented brand among bloggers – some loving it and some hating it.

The new IZEA isn’t completely up and running yet – but the launch is scheduled for 1 November.

  1. Darren,

Being fairly new to PPP, do you think this will allow them to increase their opportunities to bloggers for different income streams through one “brand”?

    Sounds promising if it will!

    Thanks for the news!

  2. Elliott – PPP are taking over the world. They are getting more and more popular and have got more financing and this will lead to increased opps.

However, I wonder whether or not the latest PR update problems will negatively affect them. People might be less willing to pay for links in reviews now.

    Who knows…

Get a PR 6 and you can make big bucks on PPP

    RT

  3. Very interesting. I’m so new to PPP that my blog is still under review. It’s nice to read that services will continue and perhaps we can look forward to a bit more flare/functionality/opportunities

  4. I thought google would have banned these kind of services, since they too are indirectly buying/selling links.

  5. wow! I heard it first here! It’s a good thing I have your site on my technorati. I’m a PPP postie and I haven’t heard the announcement yet! I think they were going to announce it in the conference this month. You’re fast dude ;) !

  6. Reply to Amit, google will ban it? They will shoot down a whole lot of dreams.

What is the difference in advertising with news networks and blogging networks from private individual bloggers who happen to be enjoying to get a piece of the advertising pie?

I think that’s why PPP will be coming up with their own stats to figure out who is hot and who is not.

So far it’s the most promising thing I’ve done in trying to make money online. I am saving up for a Mac. My target is by Christmas. I started 2 months ago and I’m $350 away.

I still don’t have the key to making money on Adsense. For some reason, I still find it quite a mystery on how people are making $1K per month on it when their readership are not based on either US, Europe, or Australia….I thought clicks from the said countries are worth more. But what do I know I only have $50 in my 12 months with Adsense.

  7. Funny, I just came from that storer and bought a really crappy cabinet that I’m having trouble assembling myself.

  8. I personally think PPP sucks big time compared to ReviewMe. I dont care if it changes name I am still not satisfied with their service.

  9. @ RT,

Thanks for the info! I wonder about the PR rankings also. I think they do play a role, but I also wonder how they will affect the blogging world in the future.

  10. I think that was IKEA from Sweden. I enjoy going to IKEA. It’s pretty easy to assemble the stuff, even for girl like me. You just have to put the pegs where they belong and you’re good to go. It’s like putting together a 3D puzzle. You don’t force the pieces together, you kinda have to find where the things fit.

I haven’t had much luck with ReviewMe, last I’ve checked I only get $5/ post with 1 opportunity/offer. My minimum now is $10 with PPP with 60+ opportunities available.

Service, they have added customer service people. It just takes a little bit longer on the queue but it’s not emergency so it’s alright. They are still growing, it’s just their first year and it’s expected to have growing pains. For a new company I think, they had such a growth spurt.

  11. IZEA …. IKEA….. now thats just a trademark lawsuit waiting to happen. :o

  12. I have a problem with a company that comes up with a name that is hard to pronounce or too similar in spelling of another company.

As stated above by Shane, is this a lawsuit waiting to happen? As funny as it seems, I bet it will.

  13. This PPP business is giving me nightmares. I post hundreds of paid posts monthly and every month I get error from them stating non compliance to their TOS. Makes me angry :(

  14. I may be stating the obvious, but IZEA looks like a play on i-d-e-a (hence the light bulb), so I don’t think IKEA would have much of a case.

  15. Taking all the services and make a name for them as a whole will totally change the image of it. Ted Murphy is going to spice things up for sure with his great marketing technique.

The services under Izzea are popular ones which we can see their implementation and mentioning all around the blogosphere. I guess they will keep moving forward.

  16. Thanks for the news. PPP has lots of potential to make bigger money but being a new website with low alexa ranking and pagerank i couldn’t get my hands on the big PPP offers.

  17. I wonder if now that they have a new name they will actually approve my account instead of ignoring my e-mails asking why I wasn’t approved? I’m not impressed with this company at all. Horrible customer service.

  18. Similar though they are, I also don’t think IKEA would have a case against IZEA. Entirely different industries. I don’t like the similarity, but IZEA was by far the best name I saw when they were discussing possible names.

I have never used these services before, but they look really useful. I’ll surely give them a try.

By the way, I’m sure you meant “PayPerPost Inc Changes ITS Name to IZEA” for the title.
