Well here we are again, folks – the start of a new year. The time when we’re usually bursting with motivation and promises to not repeat the mistakes of the past. I know I’ve learned a lot in the last 12 months (especially my bad habits, which I’ve vowed to ditch in 2015!), and I have spent some time thinking about what my priorities will be for this space, my blog, and my work habits this year. Namely: use my time more wisely, slow down and focus more, and remembering to always be useful.

So have you taken some time to get your priorities in order? Sworn off Facebook and will bump up your email list efforts? Ready to write an eBook? I’d love to hear how you’re starting 2015 with a bang.

Happy New Year! Here’s to all your successes!

  1. To write articles that are as useful as possible is an amazing resolution – I’m going to steal that one. :)

  2. Happy New Year to you too Stacey!

I for one need to buy my domain name. God knows l have put it off for so long. Oh and start another blog, loss weight, go back to school and read more Problogger.

haha that’ll keep you busy! do the domain name thing first!

  3. Alright Stacey!

So happy you’re hitting 2015 on the ground running.

    For me:

1 – I will read every word of every blog post title I click on. If the post is of a poor quality I’ll stop reading and won’t comment on the blog.

2 – I will comment authentically, from the heart. I won’t worry about hitting a set number of paragraphs. I’ll just share my thoughts.

3 – I will write one, 7,000 word or long resource each week. I will publish a post that Google would be proud of showing up on Page 1, Result 1. (Been at this for over a few months so far so good!)

4 – I will build my new email list from a helpful, authentic space.

5 – One word: simplify. Play more, play more, move into effective action more, spend less time playing online, more time playing offline in Bali or wherever I am at the time, and of course, I’ve stopped working. Whatever I do online, I’ll love doing, or I’ll stop doing it immediately.

    Simplify. That’s my one word.

Keep in mind I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions. I’m more of an in the moment guy. I’m simply sharing what I started doing about 1-2 weeks back after I ramped up my personal development efforts.

Oh yes that’s another one; I’ll continue to spend 1 hour on waking to align my mind and body with a high energy vibe.

Meditating, push ups, sit ups, stretching, 30 minutes subliminal audio file listening session….and of course later in the day I’ll walk for 1-2 hours to take care of my home/body.

Loving the message here Stacey ;)

    Ryan

ha I totally could have guessed you would have such a long (and specific!) list! I also have no doubt you will achieve them all.

  4. 1) read everything I can find on Problogger.
    2) build up my email list
    3) publish a post at least three times a week
    4) publish newsletter every Thursday
    5) make some money with the blog

I started 2015 with a complete rebrand so my stats are basically ZERO. The good news is that it’s easy to track my growth now!

  5. I definitely have three resolutions in 2015:

    1) read more blogs
    2) follow my to-do list
    3) schedule posts

Thanks 2014 for making me realize that!

    • Stacey Roberts says: 01/14/2015 at 4:31 pm

2014 made me realise those too! Although I’ve nailed scheduling, I was suffering without an editorial schedule.

  6. Happy New Year Stacey!

There are only three things I am going to focus on this year blog wise.

    1. Grow my list – Having a list is a huge asset. It is your own traffic source, and it can be your own ATM. I also will focus on optimizing my site and my optins so I can get a higher optin rate

    2. Increase my traffic – I only started my blog in December so I am slowly growing it. I have gotten it to about 20 visits a day. I would like to get it to 100+ visitors a day.

I also want to focus on bettering the traffic I get. In the sense of using the traffic to get more traffic. Social shares, email list etc are ways of doing this.

    3. Making better content – I want to try and make the best content that I possibly can.

Those are my focuses for this year.

    • Stacey Roberts says: 01/14/2015 at 4:32 pm

I finally created an email opt-in so I know how you feel! I hope you reach your goals :)

  7. The new years resolution first and foremost important is to stay in church and learn the word of GOD.

Second, affiliate marketing-blogging resolutions are to improve search engine rankings, build and sustain meaningful relationships with readers on social networks, discover unique ways to work with other affiliate marketers and bloggers to get more traffic and affiliate revenue.

    Lastly, lose weight! :-)

    • Stacey Roberts says: 01/14/2015 at 4:33 pm

Well I’m only qualified to speak on one of those goals, and I will say: networking is CRUCIAL!

  8. I want to publish one high quality ebook each month this year. Good luck to everyone on their goals this year.

  9. I’m going to go ALL-IN on just one project this year, learning Swift code to build iOS applications for the iPhone – iPod at my new site SwiftMonk.com. So, like you, focus is going to be important to me this year because usually I’m all over the place! If I could actually focus on one project, I can do well. Eric Thomas has a saying, “The good stuff will keep you from doing the GREAT STUFF.” Focus on great, and then you have half a chance. If you’re just focused on the good stuff – well, that’s all you get. That’s all I’ve had for a long time! Cheers and best of luck to everyone in 2015!

    • Stacey Roberts says: 01/14/2015 at 4:34 pm

I definitely think that sounds like an awesome idea. Focus on the GREAT!

  10. I am going to get back to my roots and blog like it is 2008.

    • Stacey Roberts says: 01/14/2015 at 4:35 pm

haha ‘back to my roots’ is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately.

I tried to blog like it was 2008 and I lost six readers. I’ll keep going ;-)

  11. This New Year, I want to undo the mistakes I’ve done previous year. I shall regularly post new articles. I shall take care of the feedbacks I receive from my readers. And I shall increase the overall user experience of my blog. All the best other readers of problogger, may you all succeed. :)

  12. I want to get my Smart Beard authority site up and running to it’s fullest potential! Wish you all the best success!

  13. As I’ve just started my blog, I hope to see it through and actually continue blogging evey week, bring value to all readers with every post and actually keep people coming back.

I want my blog to be my own online diary, something that I can look back on and be proud of.

Good luck to everyone in 2015!

  14. In (early) 2015 it’s time to find my rhythm.

I need to post shorter, more helpful articles that I can pull off on a more consistently frequent schedule.

I’ve written some good posts in the past, but they were too long, tried to solve too many problems at once. I think it’s limited my readership and it’s definitely limited my ability to be consistent.

    • Stacey Roberts says: 01/14/2015 at 4:39 pm

I think shorter posts can really be useful – I know I like them!

  15. My New Year resolution is to produce 4-5 comprehensive guides covering every aspect of blogging. I want my users to get all the content on a single page, rather than clicking multiple links. I have already completed and published one of them. Rest are on their way.

Goodluck to everyone with your New year resolutions.

    Regards
    Neil

  16. I have three main blogging goals: To sell at least 100 copies of my book, 62 Blog Posts to Overcome Blogger’s Block, per month. Make all of my sites more interactive and to put my promotion efforts on steroids.

  17. My New Year Resolution is to make my website rank top on SERPs for most of the Articles that i have worked upon, with some Off Page SEO.

  18. My Goals for 2015 are:

    – To monetise my blog (which I only started in November)

    – To write my eBook for parents of NICU babies (aim to be completed by end of Feb)

    – To consistently post 3 times per week and look to increasing it to 4

    – To attend a ProBlogger event and choose one eCourse to undertake

They are my big goals – I have lots of monthly, weekly and daily goals that I tick off as I achieve them. It always feels good to achieve something.

Good luck to everyone with their 2015 goals!!

    • Stacey Roberts says: 01/14/2015 at 4:47 pm
