Cybernet News reports that Google are testing a new feature that will allow it’s users to search specific sites from within search results:
‘The new layout will provide more information to users about a site simply by selecting the expandable arrow. Once the arrow is selected then more information will be displayed about the site, including a longer description/summary and a related image. They will also include related links to that site to help users find the information they are looking for more quickly.’
This is certainly an interesting new direction for Search Engines.

I think i saw recently an article about a coming change in the way Google displays its results, I think that the new search within the results is part of the whole redesign, they will probably not going to change much if anything in the rankings etc…
I think this is even more interesting given Seth Godin’s discussion on landing pages that you linked to yesterday. As Google allows users to penetrate a site to get to exactly the piece of information they want, bloggers and website owners are going to have to make sure every page (archives, About, links, etc.) are all functioning properly to attract an audience and make money.
without google there would be no web?!
just a thought.
With this new feature from google I think one don’t have to put all those keywords in each of the post but can get away by making the front page or any another page (profile?) keyword rich. Think of it as a big magnet to attract the web surfer from internet to your own web page.
This looks very interesting and I hope it goes well.
