Google Testing Animated Ads

Posted By Darren Rowse 8th of December 2004 Adsense 0 Comments

Yesterday I missed another change to Adsense – it seems they will be testing animated image ads – here is what they say on their site:

‘We’ll be accepting animated GIFs from a small test group of advertisers, and you’ll be able to display these ads on your pages! The new ads will still adhere to the 50KB size limit…’

  1. Noooooooooooooooooo! I’m sorry, but I just can not stand animated GIF files. They are the bane of my existence as a designer.

    Ick. So ugly.

  2. Bah! /me disables image ads asap.

I really hope google doesn’t follow through with these animated ads. ick! They may catch more attention, but I think one of the things that makes adsense work is that they are not overly annoying ads, just clean text. Lets cross our fingers that this doesn’t happen for too long.

  4. Love those Anim GIFs, there is a cute one on my site. They pay big bucks per click too.

Sorry can’t say the exact amount, but I did use the word BUCKS, as in plural.

  5. Finally, an additional breath of life in those images ads by google.

  6. animated ads.. it’s look interesting.. more option to adsense publisher to make money with it..
