E-Blogging

Posted By Darren Rowse 17th of February 2006 Pro Blogging News 0 Comments

A post by Devin Reams came up in my referrals stats today that I thought was has an interesting way to thinking about the ways that people blog. He talks of the 5 E’s (Ease) of Blogging as being:

  • Educate
  • Entertain
  • Emote
  • Engage
  • Earn

I’ll let you read about them in his post – but what ‘E’ do you primarily concentrate upon in your blog? Can you think of any more? (I wonder whether ‘Evangelize’ might be a good one for business bloggers.

  1. Oooh, evangelize. I guess I considered that ‘educating’ but its certainly something to think about…

  2. it’s gotta be Engage for me – nothng beats a blog that engages with its readers.

  3. +1 @ Martin

  4. Educate and Earn are 2 key things what my “blog” is about ;)

“Entertain” results from these two things.

  5. Primarily “Educate”; followed closely by “Entertain”.

To “Earn” would be a bonus.

  6. Entertain is primary for me. If I entertain, it will Engage the reader. If enough readers are entertained and engaged, it will Earn.

  7. Education is what my blogs are all about. In fact, I really doubt that I could do a different kind–it’s entirely not in my personality to focus on “entertain” or “emote,” especially, as a goal. Then again, to me education IS a form of entertainment.

  8. Evangelize seems like a good fit for Technology Evangelist. Education plays a large role in that.

  9. For me first thing is Educate. If you Educate people, surely your blog will be Engage + Earn.

And then you will Entertain with that Earning …. :))
