Blog Design Survey – Planning the design of your Blog

Posted By Darren Rowse 6th of May 2005 Blog Design 0 Comments

Rachel over at Designer Blogs has just posted a blog design survey that she gives her potential clients who are wanting her to quote on blog design.

I think its a pretty helpful list for those thinking through a new blog – whether they are getting a professional to design it or are doing it themselves.

  1. do you think it’s ironic that the site you refer to has black text on black?

i dont see any black on black….

  3. How would you see black on black? :)

Maybe the style sheet hadn’t loaded correctly as that centre column may well have been black on black initially.

  4. I actually want to redesign my site but my big concern is importing my 2000+ posts and 500+ comments with their permalinks to the new site. If that could be easily done to a new WordPress-based site from a Typepad site I would be more inclined to make the move sooner rather than later.

  5. Mark, it happens to be very easy to switch from TP to WP. First you must export the data from your TP account (go the the admin folder in your Main Index and it’ll let you export) then go to http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/import-mt.php and it’ll let you pull in the content.

  6. Danger,
Thanks! I really want to get off of TypePad ASAP. I’ll check this out as I am very impressed with the WordPress community.
