As a quick followup to my post a few days ago regarding how to make more money with the Amazon Affiliate Program this Christmas – today is a key day to be linking to Amazon as their Black Friday sale has just started.
This is on of the biggest days (if not THE biggest day) of shopping all year on Amazon so many of your readers will be heading into the store today anyway – you might as well as earn a commission for what they spend.
The cool thing about linking to the Black Friday Sale today is that next Monday when Amazon’s Cyber Monday sale starts the links you create today will automatically be forwarded to that sale also.
Good luck with the promotion!
Yup,
I already heard about it. Today is a massive day to promote your affiliates.
Thanks Darren for telling people
Put up links to specific black Friday specials with a blog post that went live just after midnight. Putting up some more guides this afternoon.
Part of me wishes I could update their stats whenever, instead of having to wait 24 hours. The other part of me is glad that it only does update once a day.
Great stuff, I have started a few promotions but after tea is the best time I’ll be able to sit down and concentrate for 10 hours straight, I’ve got some good promotions coming up for different things and I know what I’m going to do, because after all I’m going to put whatever I earn into a new blog design for the coming new year, should be cool!!
I wonder why they call it black friday? I like afros, but I wouldn’t wear one, unless it was pink!
great guess this is the time to make my first amazon sale, im gonna cover up my blog with ads. hope i at least make 5 to 6 sales. Thanks for informing Darren, that is why Problogger is a must read for beginners and advanced bloggers.
Hmm, hope to come up with my first aff sale also.. Good Luck everyone.
It is a shame that we do not have this in the UK. I will just have to make the most of any offers that they are running in the UK over Christmas.
I am still confused as to what Black Friday is all about.
Here in the UK when you have a day with ‘black’ before it that normally means it is something bad.
Thanks for the reminder!
I worked all last night (no joke!) to set up an Amazon store to provide people for the best deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Hopefully I will get something good out of it although I’m new to the blogging world… check out the article I made for it if you’d like!

And, there appear to be good special discounts for the Black Friday sales too to allure buyers!
This is good to know! I only have a small Amazon affiliate store put together, but when I start expanding my affiliates I can definitely keep this in mind for next year.
Also, am I the only one that finds it ironic how Black Friday (the biggest day of American consumerism) is the day AFTER Thanksgiving, when we are all supposed to be grateful for what we already have.
Thanks Darren. I used the same link this morning and wrote a post about Black Friday and dieting. Hopefully it will work.
Someone asked why is it called “Black Friday?” Well for those who are interested or don’t know – It’s referred to this because it’s not only the biggest shopping day for the holiday season, but it’s also the one day that traditionally puts a company in the “black” (for profits) However, with the current conditions, who knows?
I put up my affiliate ads and created new content for my blog today too!
I’d love it if you did a follow-up to this follow-up and let us know how Black Friday went for you!
Great stuff, I only have a small Amazon affiliate site. Today, I have started a few promotions, is a massive day to provide people for the best deals. Good Luck everyone.
Actually, Black Friday’s origin comes at one of the worst economic crisis points in American history. It was one of the many “Black” days that America witnessed, which initiated the Great Depression.
Why they call the best shopping day of the year Black Friday when the name resembles a sad moment in time beets me though.
Yes people wait so long to get this day so that they can save their hard earned money by purchasing their most desired product.
Black Friday has been a massive day for us. Our orders have tripled in Amazon!!
I definitely recommend to anyone who has a product based blog to add Amazon links. We started to add them last year and were amazed at the number of sales – and most of them were for products we weren’t even promoting! Amazon converts extremely well.
I am kind of actually surprised that the deals are not as abundant today (cybermonday). I held off some online shopping expecting good discounts but I am seeing almost the same prices that I saw on Friday and Saturday with occasional free shippings. Now i think its not what the hype is about. What are your or other users experience i would definitly want to know if you encourage them to write it here… thanaks. – Monica
