YPN have today announced policy changes – the main change being that you are now only allowed to place a maximum of three YPN ad units on any single page at a time. This is the same maximum that AdSense allows on a page at any given time (unless you have special permission to do more).
Darren, could you explain exactly what this trend is going to do to probloggers? A big hit? Nothing to worry about?
Thanks,

When I first started using AdSense I was really pissed about this. However when I tried using only 2 adsense ads on a page for a while I actually noticed my earnings rise a little bit due to the fact that there were only the higher paying ads being displayed, and not all ads had optimal position. If you want more ads on your page, use adsense and YPN together, only 2 of each on a page and you’ll have the highest paying ads for each network being displayed. That’s my 2 cents.
[…] As Google mandates a max of 3 contextual ads per page, YPN has now announced they are following suit and also limiting their ad placement. (via Darren) I only see good in this, though I haven’t seen widespread abuse before now. Has there been a great deal of over-run YPN blog? […]
I don’t think it’s a problem Alex. Too many more ad units than 3 starts to clutter the page. If you need more just use something like Chitika as well to give you extra ad units.
YPN has had its ups and downs. They have tried to be a bit more picky when it comes to what you can do. This was a long time in coming.
I do wish YPN would make some advancements in other areas to do something different than Adsense.
Soon… fingers crossed.
thats great…what about all the webmasters who dont and cant get YPN…when are they coming out of beta!?
