Today I had a good discussion with my Twitter followers about what they were doing with their blogs over the Christmas break later this week.
Most of the answers came down to the strategies that I mention in this old post here at ProBlogger – 7 Things to Do with Your Blog when you take a Vacation.
What are you doing with your blog these holidays?
I had set up some scheduled posts, but once we hit the road, I changed my mind and delayed them into the new year.
Since we’re traveling over the holidays, I decided to do a travel journal on how our long roadtrip with four young kids is going. It’s a little different from the type of posts I usually write, and I’m getting great response from it.
thanks for the nice link……good 7 act to do
Now that was the post I was in search for this vacation. I too have websites and blogs but anyhow I take out time to read your posts Darren. That’s y you are a celebrity.
The one thing I did was I created a ‘Happy Holidays’ post to add a bit of personality to my blog.
Other than that, I’ve been relaxing. I worked on a few articles which I saved as drafts, but only when I got bored. I de-stressed myself since there aren’t a lot of people surfing the net over the holidays. I plan to release my finished drafts over the next few weeks. I just saved myself time as I knew I would be busy starting up school, work, and everything else again.
I put on my food blog what I had for Christmas Eve.
Nice post Darren but I could have done with it a week or so earlier when I was planning what to put up over Christmas!
Last christmas and new year, i placed my blog on hold. No post. No new articles. But fortunately, when i came back. It has a higher traffic. I don’t know why.
Typically, I do nothing to my blog from mid November to the end of the year. This year I plan on using the time to schedule most of my posts for 2009 and work on some special pages.
