Blog Herald has a good post on Understanding Blog and Ping – I’ll leave it to Duncan to explain:

Duncan’s comment “The challenges presented by people using Blog and Ping strategies will force search engines and others to find new ways of filtering the rubbish out and that will be a good thing for the blogosphere” also peaks interest because of what is to follow. Ping is good method and extend your blog to the world.
