Top 5 – Group Writing Project Day 3

Posted By Darren Rowse 10th of May 2007 ProBlogger Site News 0 Comments

Top-5
Today’s Submissions to this week’s ProBlogger Group Writing Project have again blown me away (and proved to be quite a distraction for blogging, eating…. and getting out of my PJs!). In today’s batch there were 222 taking total participants in the project up to 596!

There’s still time to enter the project – with around 24 hours until your time is up (I’ll cut off acceptance of entries when the clock strikes midnight in Honalulu (which I think is pretty close to being the last place to see the day). To be included in the last day’s submissions and go in the running for the $1001 cash prize simply follow the process outlined in this post.

Why Chitika Rocks #3

Continuing my mini series on why Chitika, our sponsor of this project, rocks today I want to talk about another of their products – their new free BlogBash ebook. This is a collection of blog tips from 30 blog experts written over the month of April.

Submissions in this free resource are on a wide range of topics and contain some really excellent advice from bloggers like Chris Pirillo, Monolo, Joel Comm, Jeremy Wright, Neil Patel, Aaron Wall, Andy Merrett, Liz Strauss, Wendy Piersall and even one from me.

It’s well worth a look.

Day 3 Submissions

Once again you’ll want to equip yourself with some snacks and a drink to tackle this list. Having already surfed most of it today I can tell you that there are all kinds of posts in the list. I laughed, I shook my head, I nodded in agreement, I shook my head in wonder and I added a few blogs to my RSS reader (and once or twice did all of that on the one blog).

I hope you enjoy today’s submissions as much as I have. Don’t forget to link up to them, leave comments, subscribe to feeds and do a little bookmarking with those posts that resonate with you the most.

  1. Thanks for the link. Mine was “Top Five Internet Business Blogs”.

  2. At the rate this is all going, I’ll have enough reading material for the next couple of months! It’s always good to learn about what other people (both friends and strangers) are cooking up these days.

  3. […] are the submissions from Day three of ProBloggers Group Writing Project. […]

  5. I’m having so much fun with these articles discovering new things and stuff. My entry has become my most popular post now, with a total of 73 comments of which 20 are pingbacks.

Plus the traffic has exploded and a lot of people are actually voting and taking it seriously.

Thanks for a great project, I’ve gotten to know a lot of great blogs this way and many have come to know mine as well.

  6. Thanks for including my in your list Darren.

The two previous lists made me learn blogs I didn’t know about, but matching my niche.

    It’s a great initiative.

  7. Thanks for the inclusion on the list Darren, and what a great project this is, I enjoyed taking part.

Now I’m off to read all thos other great posts!

    Mine is the http://www.popbuzzuk.com/the-top-5-things-you-should-know-about-david-beckham/ one.

  8. Drat! Right at the bottom! I suppose it’s better than being lost in the middle, I suppose ;)

  9. Wow, looks like I’m going to be blog hopping all night with this batch. Kudos to everyone!

  10. Thanks for including me in the list, Darren. There’s some fascinating stuff in that lot!

Cheers for now from the UK.

  11. Awesome I finally have a link to my site on one of the most popular sites going around. Let the moneys start rolling in! lol

    Top stuff Darren!

  12. Wow… I think It will be more than 1000 links is the friday… Altough my blog don’t get many attention from bloggers, But still, I got many advantages when I join the contest:
    1. Technorati’s rank Up! Because Darren’s post linked by so many people. My authority rank is also Up
    2. Got Many Backlinks… (Yes, Many!!)
    3. Increase traffics (100% more yesterday. It’s the truth!!)
    4. People begin to comment in my blog
    5. Make Me Happy because of many advantages :) Thanks Darren!
Let me call this post… Top 5 advantages to join Group Writing Contest by Darren Rowse @ Problogger.net :)

  13. As I look at this list, I can’t help but think that some day people will be amazed to find what a large group of young and latented writers strtarted out here. :)

  14. Thanks for my link. This has some of the most useful and funniest posts I’ve ever read. Great idea and whoah what a list!

  15. I don’t have time to read them all

  16. I second what Liz just said. I have already discovered quite a few talented writers in just a span of 48 hours.

This is what I call the most successful writing project that has hit the internet since…. well… ever since start of the internet most probably…

  17. What I have noticed is that brazilians have a weird tendency to write funny stuff while the other are more serious about it. Perhaps that explains a lot of our national issues.

BTW, this list is a strong incentive to start a blog in the lingua franca (English).

  18. Darren! You forgot to include the top links of yesterday! ;P

  19. Well I love to blog. I think blog is giving and it is really easy when we are talking abt topics that are close to our heart.

I blog about personal development, how we can use Law of Attraction in our lives. Because I enjoy sharing with people stories on how I read Bob Proctor free attraction report , applied it and got my vision board realised in 3 weeks that I am not willing to delegate to writers.

To spread knowledge to more, I update my blog with techniques and free resources to assist them in their manifestation.

Thanks for your list above, I am surely looking fwd to know another person who is into personal development

  20. Thanks for starting this, what a great idea.

  21. […] these before. I will still read the list. The ENTIRE list. So this latest group writing contest at Problogger? IS DRIVING ME […]

  22. My favorite thus far: “Top 5 reasons that I can not win a top 5 blogging competition” by Dennis Scott. It says a lot about the blogger’s personality (witty rather than just pessimistic) and that makes it very easy to relate to. Of course I still have a long way to go on the list, but I think a lot of these entries are very interesting and well written.

  23. Great project! Thanks again Darren!!

  24. I finally submitted my entry :)

  25. I’ve had such a blast with this project and met some pretty cool fellow bloggers in the process. Great idea :)

  26. wow, this is really taking off.

  33. I’m having a great time reading the submissions! This is the most fun I’ve had in a while….sad I know.

  34. Reading these is a blast and a half! Unfortunately, it’s sucking the life out of my workday…hopefully the next batch of posted links will include mine, and then my words can suck the life out of someone else’s workday!

I wish I saw more people posting about green issues like me though, any other environmental bloggers out there? :)

  38. […] Darren Rowse’s Group Writing Project has been a success. You still have until 12 am in Hawaii to submit your “Top 5″ list, so be sure to do so! I’ve compiled a list, which I’ll be posting throughout the day, of my favorite “Top 5″ posts that were submitted. If you think I should add one (even if it’s yours ), just use my contact page. 43. […] of stuff.  I really want to go through all the Top 5 lists that have been published so far for the Problogger/Chitika contest, linking to the ones that I think are really worth the read, but I just haven’t had the time […]

  44. Cool idea! This is my first entry in the project and it was fun thinking of a “top 5” for taxes because, you know, nobody ever puts taxes at the top of any list… :)

  45. ACK! Imagine my chagrin when I was having a blast clicking on all of the Top 5 lists only to find that the link to MY entry was broken!

Oh, the horror! (you’ve got an extra {BR} in the href, Darren)

In the meantime, here is the link to my entry:

  47. I wonder if there is a way to make a big list with all these suggestions (like http://www.srajaram.com/2007/05/top-5-lists-for-everything-under-sun.html) and put voting buttons on all these posts so that people can vote for their favorite 2-3 posts. Would be fun to see which ones come up top. It would also ensure that the good posts get the visibility they deserve.
