Increase Your Direct Ad Sales Revenue with a Clear Advertising Page

Improve-BlogIn This post Jeremy Schoemaker from Shoemoney answers – ‘What did You Do On Your Blog in 2007 that Improved it the most’

I did several improvements to my blog but by far the one that improved it the most was implemented a VERY clear advertising page which decreased our email back and fourth to hardly any and increased direct ad sales revenue by about 400%

PS: Also if you want there is a video online of my presentation @ blogworld where I talk about how I determine the price for ads on my blog

  1. Awesome video. Keep up the good work!

    p.s. woot! 1st post (I think!)

  2. I did that today. Added a nice advertise page.

  3. I’ll keep that in mind when/if I add ads. I can see how it helps too. Very to the point.

  4. Nice article, I’m trying to get my popularity up before I expand in direct advertising hardcore.

  5. A nice post would be, when do you think a blogger should open up his/her website for private ad sales?

  6. I like the idea of setting aside a place for advertisers to be given all the information they need to find out on how to advertise on a blog. The only thing that i would place emphasis on would be that the whole page has to be clearly set out with all prices in bold. I see so many websites that have me spending at least 2 minutes looking and clarifying prices.

In my opinion all the information needs to be found within the first 5-10 seconds, just like a normal website, just like a normal website home page

  7. Yeah, a ‘when’ article would be nice, but I’m sure there a few of those in the pb archives. So clear prices, clear timeframe, and clear reasons why to advert on the site…seems simple enough.

  8. Sure, it makes your point clear to our advertisers and the wanna be advertisers as well.

  9. Is the Shoemoney advertising page up to date?
It says “All images need to be non animated” and the first ad I notice is animated.

  10. A advertising page is a great idea and is something I need to add to my site.

  11. I had suggested about this to Darren on his this post

  12. I love Shoemoney’s advertising page, I really like the way he has a diagram showing off exactly where the ads are placed and what they are.

  13. Yes, having a nice and clear advertising page can really help reduce the advertising queries you get and also help in increasing the revenue. I think one can even include an FAQ in the advertising page, outlining the most asked advertising queries…

  14. I love posts that get right down to the crux of the matter. And Shoemoney rarely disappoints!

    Good question too, Darren… :-)
