Google today announced Google Gadgets are now available for webpage owners.
Previously they were only available for Google Desktop or Homepage but now publishers can add them. In a sense they are widgets which will sit in your side bar and they range from Google Maps, to the Current Moon Phase, to games, translation and time and date.
I’m not about to rush out and add any of them to my blogs but there might be some worth using depening upon the nature of your blog.

I find them to be a bit on the cheesy/tacky side, but indeed some may be useful.
Ah … more choices to clutter up a sidebar. :)
I like a blog with a “less is more” sidebar.
The google map one had potential, however it doesn’t want to zoom in to street level in Australia. Strange…
These widgets seem to be more of a distraction to the blog than the wonderful tool they might have been. What would be a good widget for a blog?
I really don’t see the point of this at all.
Is anyone really likely to think “I fancy a quick game of PacMan – I know I’ll head to that website about blogging”?
this wont increase traffic right
We belive in google gadgets since we belive Google is the most likely winner of the widget/gadget – war.
We belive gadgets so much infact that we’ve created a gadgets directory called Google Mini Apps. At the time of writing this comment the site is still young(about 20 days), but people are already submitting their gadgets like crazy.
What a great post.I like gadgets so much, I’m going to add to this blog to my favorites. No doubt…
