There’s a fascinating idea being beta tested over at coComment which attempts to help those who leave comments on multiple blogs (as readers) to keep track of those conversations – all in the one place. It also gives you the ability to display these conversations on your own blog if you wish to do so and will alert you to anyone else’s response to the conversations you’ve participated in. Sounds like an interesting service.

Unfortunately, coComment is still available as beta-release which means one need an invitation code. I would like to test this tool, sound like a welcome solution to manage and overview world wide comments.
I was one of the lucky few that got to test it out. See my review here. I also posted some codes to access the service.
this is a great service indeed, i dont know if you tried Jeeran blogging service before, but it has a service that enables the reader to subscribe to the comments so that an email will be sent to him with all new comments added to the post he subscribed at.
you can try Jeeran blogging service at this link: http://www.jeeran.com/blogs, and we will be happy to have your comments.

Holy crap, have I been waiting for something like this!
Alex, thanks a lot. I was able to access the service using one of the codes from your blog.
If you enter your email, they will send you a code pretty soon – a friend of mine and me both got ours after less than one hour. :)
Dominik: They’ll be sending out more Emails with codes Moday morning.
Marc: Great. Just for the note, these codes can only be used once. Enjoy coComment!
I use Expression Engine and there is a checkbox option for those leaving comments to be notified of any comment additions. If all CMS/blogging tools had that feature, one probably wouldn’t need coComment or the others would they?
@PXLated: Yes, one can use the regular checkbox to get notifications after new comments have been added. But coComment offers more functionality like the possibility to integrate your comments in your own weblog, using RSS-feeds to watch comments, et cetera.
i was able to get my foot in the door about an hour ago. i have to say that the service as-is (despite being in beta) is awesome. the service outshines the old practice of using del.icio.us to track comments. i’ve added the cocomment rss feed to my reader so i know when topics being tracked are updated.
That was quick. I saw this post and went and put my email address in the hat and had an invite this morning. It sounds like a cool service, but it’s not automated which was a feature I was hoping for. I don’t know how realistic that idea is in hindsight. You actually have to click a button in your toolbar whenever you comment somewhere. Mildly annoying and easy to forget.
This is something I have been waiting for. I had submitted my email and soon I received an invitation code. Gonna check it out now!
Sounds like a great idea.
did you see jack of all idiots, (i mean bloggs).com said you were so 2005? they use such colorful language. Rock on Darren!
For someone who likes to cruise around and comment this is something I’ve been waiting for – so I’m off to check it out when I get my invitation.
I just sighned up and got my invitation code within 5 minutes. At first glance it kind of reminds me of a Technorati for comments. It seems really cool so far and I am using it to track this very comment.
5 minutes!!! I’m still waiting for mine :-(

I was fortunate enough to receive an invitation the other day from a fellow blogger, and so once I receive some invitaitons I will be posting them on my site( http://www.cybernetnews.com ) but I don’t know how long it takes. This seems like a pretty clever idea and it is simple.

I’m trying it out but just a few bugs – I’m tracking comments I made at 2 posts on ProBlogger. In my “Conversations” the title of the blog and post does not appear (it shows as “untitled”) – also it’s not tracking properly. On one post it shows only 2 comments whereas in reality there’s been 9 comments.
Bit of work still to do.
CoComment is out of beta now…I just signed up and am going to start using it with this post! It’s a killer idea.
