If you’re an Aussie and you have a blog it might be well worth your while to enter this competition which will award $10,000 to Australia’s Best Blog. It’s sponsored by a Melbourne hosting company – Smarty Host.
Entries opened a couple of days ago and close on 28 November.
To enter you have to give your details and in 25 words or less describe why you deserve the title of Australia’s best blog. You can only enter your own blog.
Darren’s got that one wrapped up!!! No contest. :-)
Doh!
I was hoping that this one might have slipped by your nose! I guess you never know, maybe they will go for a less professional blog. If they go for a half ass one, I might have a chance!

lol – I somehow doubt that friends. There are so many thousands of amazing blogs and bloggers in Australia – I have a feeling they’ll be looking for something with a little wider appeal. It’ll be interesting to see how it goes though and who they come up with.
My bet is they go for something more outlandish rather than a dry sort of blog most of us produce. It’ll no doubt be some sort of pop-culture blog with lots of color and craziness.
It’s open to NEW ZEALANDERs too. (I wrote that big to make sure the NZers saw it – I wasn’t shouting.)
And here’s the judging criteria:
Entries will be judged on content, creativity , uniqueness and the number of and current postings on their blog. Use of photographs and audiovisual material will be considered.
Now the hard part is saying why it’s the best. :s
I hope they make the list of blogs entered available somewhere so we can judge ourselves too. :) A peoples choice.
On another note, does anyone know of any aussie aggregating services like aussieblogs.net used to be? I still miss that.
Additionally, there’s another blog competition going on that I only just found a couple of days ago in exploring Ruby on Rails. Typo blog software is holding a theme design competition and you can win a PowerBook or and iBook among other goodies! :)
I’m trying to get my rails installation to work with MySQL damnit, I want that PowerBook and some new blogware to play with. :)
