Yaro points to a new service called AustralianBlogs.com.au that bookmarks Australian blogs. If you’re an Aussie, have a .au domain or are writing about Australian stuff they’re looking for your submission.

Hey Darren,
Appreciate the plug. Yaro’s been a great help with the design and also being the patron (which helps open so many doors for us).
It’s a bit of a poor man’s del.icio.us at the moment but hopefully we might be able to add a few more features that will enable easier. As with most volunteer-based groups, however, it’s more often about how we beg/borrow/steal time from talented developers, administrators and designers.
Cheers,
Jon
oops….”enable easier searching” (typo)
Speaking of Australia, I hear there is a really bad cyclone up there. Is it near you, Darren?
Evan
Darren is a long way from where Tropical Cyclone Larry hit but if you follow the link in my name you’ll see where I’ve been blogging about it.
I first wrote about it on Saturday and by Sunday I was getting Google hits about it so I just had to go on blogging about it :)
Bloody Americans! (I’m assuming Evan is from America). Don’t even know the difference between Melbourne and North Queensland.
Melbourne is in the south of Victoria. North Queensland is on the opposite side of the country. A long way away. I don’t think Darren would be having any trouble.
I guess I need to take a look at a map sometime.
Perhaps…
Really!! Wow! It sounds great. Rather amazing. I think I should join you people. Hey Zantor, bad manners, you should not say like this to Darren.
say sorry hugh!
Next time, I should see it typed out here. Ok
Have great time folks.
Buy!!

We’r a bunch of aussie guys but our domain doesn’t have an .au and we’r not writting anything related to australia in particular, are we still eligble?
*wonder*
Hi MenDNA,
If you’re an Aussie, you pass the test.
australianblogs.com.au is about being able to showcase Aussie digi-literary talent (no matter where in the world they are located and whatever it is) – as long as it’s not of an adult nature or spam.
Hope to see your link soon. Let me know if we can help.
Cheers
Jon
Hi Jon,
Thanks so much for the prompt reply!
We’ll try to submit it now.
Cheers,
The Guys at MenDNA.com
Thanks mate. Excellent. I’m an Aussie blogging from Paris. That site made me homesick. Especially liked credit card victim – what a concept!
Mal at http://www.welcometowallyworld.com
Thanks, Mal :)
I agree. I’ve added about 8 new blogs onto my aggregator since yesterday – the credit card guy being one of them. Pity he doesn’t post more regularly. Sounds like a great idea for another cheesy reality TV show.
Thanks for your blog – now I know all about Pavlina Radoslavova…
Jon
[…] We really are, us Aussies. This morning I followed a link from ProBlogger to a new Australian blog index, AustralianBlogs.com.au. I added my links and posted the link on port80 (new goal guys: the Perth tag needs to be bigger than Melbourne or Sydney – it’s already bigger than Adelaide and Canberra). I had an email chat with Jon, one of the guys behind AustralianBlogs.com.au (AND a fellow Perthite), asking which one was his blog… and 9 hours later, the official AustralianBlogs.com.au blog launches. Nothing says geek like “I spent Saturday night launching a blog because some random chick gave me shit about not having one”. […]
you got me, Goatlady…

oops, how many typos can I squeeze into a comments page?

[…] ProBlogger!?!?! Are you serious?!?!?!? Darren Rowse? […]
[…] But with the pulling power of Yaro and friends (such as Darren Rowse at ProBlogger) we managed a better start than we could have possibly hoped for. […]
Theres also quite a good Australian blog index at The Australian Index
