It looks like the integration of AdSense ads into Feeburner feeds is a step closer with reports surfacing that AdSense ads have been seen on RSS feeds that look like this.
This ad was seen on the feed of Inhabitat (found via Digital Inspiration). The images are served as image maps not JavaScript.
Here’s hoping that this will perform better than the previous AdSense for RSS program that has been in beta for a couple of years now!
I was wondering why mine wasn’t showing up. Turns out they just weren’t ready. Well I’m excited now
Interesting… let’s see if these ads are effective in the long term.
I had no idea they were doing this.. hopefully I can make something out of it.
Should be good to see this idea in practice!
I appreciate this heads up, Darren.
I remember when this service was not available. Great to know that we bloggers now have the capacity to increase our revenue through Emails to subscribers.
I’ve been waiting for this for a while now. I keep seeing references to the adsense for feeds beta that go all the way back to 2005. That’s a pretty long beta test.
With 10 subscribers it doesn’t matter :p
Anyway, glad they are a step closer
There is already integration within Feedburner to add Google Adsense ads. However, that integration is to appear in the RSS when it is clicked and not in RSS feeds within readers.
Im looking forward to seeing adsense integration which will be competing directly with Pheedo and other such companies.
It seems to me that sites that generate a good feed following don’t convert well and that sites that would convert well don’t get followed. Webmasters follow but don’t click!
I wonder if anyone will really click on them. I wouldn’t.
May be the success rate is less for these ads. Who clicks on feeds. You? May Be.
Maybe Adsense is something you really have to learn and understand to make money at. I don’t make anything off adsense.

I think the very fact that someone is technologically inclined if they subscribe to a feed might mean low CTR…
This sounds really exciting
As patrick said, I also doubt that adsense for feed readers will make good money for most coz feedreaders are net savvy people who don’t really like to click on ads.
Adsense has not really earned my much. Though I had followed quite a few of their suggestions. And mind I do get a pretty decent set of visitors through some premium keywords.
