Time for another reader poll – this one is on a topic that many bloggers are getting into – monetizing your blog by selling something of your own from it.
Many bloggers make money by selling other peoples products with advertising or affiliate programs – but do you have something of your own to sell and are you doing it?
What you sell might include an e-book, membership are, consulting services, training, a DVD, real hard cover book, T-shirts….. anything!

Firstly i love polls hmm????
I have a widget on my fairly newish blog (about 6 months i think) for MyEtsy.com shop which i sell handmade accessories and gifts.
Also a badge for another handmade online shopping site which i have a store at called Madeit.com
I am also an affilliate menber of commission junction and i use googleAds.
Trying, but i still need more members and comments etc. Still i come up well in search engines so it will just take time and plenty of viral marketing. Oh and i use facebook, twitter and many forums to promote the blog….
I’m trying to sell my handmade jewelry.
I personally don’t sell my own products at this moment, but that is because my site isnt large enough to do so. So i keep with Amazon.
Though i think this depends on your niche, some people will never be able to sell their own products due to niche demands.

I sell vintage sewing patterns and reproduced vintage clothing.
We sell our web development and system administration services off the back of our blogs. We’re a tech worker co-op, so blogging sort of fits our ethos in a way – good customers for us will like blogs.
No, but I bet I could do so. Tried Amazon affiliates and sold 13 watches from one link over a 3 month period. I can only imagine what would happen if I had 1000 links. Too bad Amazon affiliates it kind of tacky, or else I would do just that.
I have 1 informational blog ( http://scooterroutes.blogspot.com/ ) that I don’t sell anything on but it does have Adsense on it.
I do have 2 websites though. At PurelySoapin.com I sell my handmade soap that clears up eczema, and it also has information about soapmaking. And at http://www.karen.nan4u.com you can join a networking group to save money and earn money at the same time.
At this moment I do not sell anything!
I was selling a service, I was writing advertising texts, but now my page’s ruck is very low, so nobody wants me to write any more :(

I generally sell those products which are related with my experience, as with that I will be able to make people understand what is good and what is not.
I also advice similar things to other people as well.
I write blog reviews about clickbank products. It is fun to do when there is an Interesting products to promote. It is getting some great traffic to those pages. It is important to optimize the content to get targeted traffic. I also write for review sites. Thanks for asking.
The score is tight. I guess it’s a better idea to use established networks to sell something.

We now have an online florist selling personalized gifts to other states.
We are in the midst of completing a blog we just setup to offer value to our customers.
Seems we are a different model of how blogging got to us.

I design blog books for a living and promote my design site on my personal site. Who would have thought a childhood dream of creating scrapbooks for other people would turn out to be a reality!? I’ve designed books for people all over the world and am excited to see how my business will grow!
I also have plans to publish and sell a version of my book called Alphabitty Moments. It started out as a blogging carnival and has snowballed since I won Blurb’s Best Book Contest in November.
The only thing that I “sell” is Advertising space. I create unique content, and advertisers line up to post ads on my blogs! Its called Google Adsense…

Sure there are times like this when a report surfaces talking about their issues and concerns but, for the most part, we like to talk about big brands and how they do the Internet marketing thing well or not so well.

Some good advice on product selling – I had an Amazon banner on my sidebar, don’t think I sold a thing in 3-4 months, you’re right when you say you’ve got to give your readers a reason to click through to an affiliate site. I’m trying this out with a few of my more popular posts on my site and I’m slowly starting to see some returns.
