If you’re looking for bloggers….
If you’re looking to hire a blogger for your blog the job board is a wonderful place to find them. The RSS feed is subscribed to by thousands of bloggers, jobs appear in the ProBlogger Twitter feed (subscribed to by over 9000 people) as well as appearing on the front page of ProBlogger.net (seen by hundreds of thousands of people every month). Jobs also get picked up on a number of other job sites that track and aggregate our jobs! That’s pretty amazing exposure for your job considering it only costs $50 for 30 days.
Hey Darren, if your done hawking your stuff at us I have some great swampland in Florida to sell you. (If that joke doesn’t cross oceans then I have some nice desert in Australia to sell you)
Thanks for the heads up!
Subscribed to the feed and will keep my eye on it.
Thanks for the heads up on the jobs for blogger, it is good to see that there are other ways to help struggling bloggers. I will be looking into the fund raising blogger position.

Duhh, I’m not sure I understand your point…
Darren should not want to be compensated in any way whatsoever for his talents and the invaluable information he provides daily to the unnamed masses (us)?
Huh… Maybe I should tell my boss I’d rather volunteer my time and stop collecting a paycheck. Eating, shelter, and all other basic necessities of life are so passe and completely overrated.
Ok, sarcasm session over. ;)
Now about that swampland in Florida… Sounds tempting…
There are so many people searching for bloggers! Is blogging job become more respectful these days? However, this time I better take care of my blog..
Thanks darren for your info.It really useful for me.
i dig very much the vimu approach. was actually looking for something like this to monetize recently. thanks for the tips, as always.
Duhh is a serial troll here on ProBlogger and is starting to get a reputation as such. This must be the 3-4th time I’ve seen him get the first comment in with a bitchy comment. If I were you Darren I’d block him as he’d obviously just trying to cause trouble and get people to go look at his own blog (which he doesn’t seem to update – so I’m not sure why he bothers).
Hi Duhh, happy to have your opinion expressed here as long as you don’t mind me having my say too.
This is a blog about making money from blogs. People come here to read about how to do that.
My motivations for running this site are to give people good information on how to make profitable blogs – but I also would like to make this blog profitable too. It sort of leads to the credibility of the site if you not only talk about how people make money from blogs but actually do it :-)
If that bothers you then you have a few options:
1. You could close your eyes a fair bit when you visit ProBlogger
2. You could choose to ignore those posts and parts of my blog where I make money and concentrate on those parts of the blog where you find value
3. You could choose not to visit ProBlogger
I personally would prefer it if you decided to go with option 2 (or even 1) as I value all readers and have enjoyed some of your previous comments – however it is getting a little tiring to keep hearing how you don’t like me promoting anything that might make me money.
I’m not wanting to have a go at you – as I say, you’re welcome to your opinion, but this is a blog about making money from blogs!
Hey Darren, enjoying your blog over here and was wondering how much it cost to purchase an ad to hire a blogger?
Hi Darren, you are right, I don’t understand why the peoples have to criticized you, this a freedom world, you can do what ever you want to do as far as you are not affecting the other peoples negatively.
I am ashamed to admit that I clicked on “Duhh’s” link to see what kind of site he runs. Of course, that is his intention by leaving the kind of remarks he does.
The really surprising part is that his site gives advice and information on social bookmarking and networking. If this is how he networks (leaving nasty comments on other blogs), I for one would NEVER follow any of the advice on his site. It just shows bad business to try and get visitors by putting down other blogs. Isn’t that very anti-social and the complete opposite of the purpose of his site? I think his marketing is on the wrong path!
@kelly
I don’t leave comments to network, I leave comments to voice my opinion using my psydoname so I’m easily identifiable.
@Darren and others
Making money off the blog is fine, advertisements are fine and the problogger job board is a nice addition, but as someone who subscribes to problogger it’s disappointing and rather annoying when I open your post to find you’ve dedicated the whole thing to try to sell me your or someone else’s service, I’m not against mentioning the job board in some of your post, or even that one guys theme. But you should only plug in advertising into your posts when it’s relevant to the topic of a informative post, tell me about the job board when you write about getting hired for a blog company and tell me about the theme when you write about a blogs image, but do not spam my Google reader and waist my time with advertisements for things I don’t find remotely useful.
Out of the last 10 posts on problogger, two of them are posts I’d consider pure advertisements and two I wouldn’t consider useful which is sad for a blog I enjoy reading.
It seems that a lot of bloggers are getting slammed for writing post to help them make money. Just recently John Cow.com was slammed by commentators for doing an advertisement in his blog. i don’t feel that there is anything wrong with this as long as you also offer readers something to look forward too.
Duhh… Yes, you’re right, this blog revolves around you and what you think solely.
I actually had not visited the job board on this blog prior to Darren’s post about it. Once I saw that, *in this blog post*, there were jobs listed that I am interested in and would qualify for, I then decided to visit the job board.
So I disagree completely with your statement that Darren’s “dedicated the whole thing to try to sell me your or someone else’s service.”
I actually found the post quite useful, and apparently so did quite a few other folks who have taken the time to voice their comments here.
But, again, you’re right, what matters most is what you alone find and don’t find useful.
Okay, so that wasn’t very nice of me, but I felt it needed to be said. ;)
Duhh – let me start by saying I do genuinely appreciate your feedback. I also want to say that I’m sorry if I’ve overreacted to your comment and that perhaps the reason that I have pushed back a little is simply that I take pride in keeping the balance between providing readers with informational posts and posts that do have some sort of a pay off for me about right. There are a lot of blogs on this topic who post 8 affiliate link or paid review posts out of 10 with only the occassional one that is more informational.
Having said that – I’d disagree that the two posts out of the ten that you don’t find useful are not useful or relevant for this blog. Lets look at them:
1. This post is a post highlighting 8 jobs that readers can apply for as bloggers that helps them make money from blogging. I’d argue that it’s as on topic as one could get. Perhaps it isn’t useful to you if you’re not looking for a blogging job but it seems from these comments and the responses that I got on Twitter to this post that others did find it useful. I only do these posts highlighting the job board every couple of months but do include them every now and again as newer readers to the blog quite often don’t know about the job boards. So yes it does promote something that makes me money – but it also provides readers with links to jobs they can apply for and a service that they can subscribe to that will help them do the very thing that this blog is about.
2. The interview with Chris Pearson is an interview about his product, and one that I make a referral commission from – that’s true – however I’d argue it’s relevant to this blog as it’s a product that many readers are interested in (blog design) and the interview also covered some reflections on general blog design principles. While it promotes a product it also contains information that I think would be useful to readers who are considering design issues.
Like I said above – these are just two of ten posts and if you were to take a look through the 4000+ posts that I’ve written and compare them to the number of posts that are promoting affiliate links on this blog I think you’d find they are in the vast minority.
I usually don’t comment on other blogs, but I just couldn’t help it this time…
I had no earthly idea there was a job board for blogging opportunities until today. Keep up the great work, Darren and Duhh — lighten up, bro — there’s nothing wrong with the concept of making money by trying to help other people. In fact, it’s an age-old concept and those who fail to abide by the equation, i.e., help others FIRST, be rewarded for that help financially SECOND, are flash in the pan, here today, gone tomorrow.
While I, like Darren, and many other bloggers out there (and here) view our blogs as businesses, entertaining the reader and enticing them to come back again and again for more entertainment (or valuable information in Darren’s case) has to be the number one priority and it is obvious to me it IS Darren’s number one priority here.
Thanks again, Darren and keep up the great work!
Problogger definitely helping job seekers. Thanks Darren.
Hi,
Can any one help with this:
what is the averge cost per post (lets say 400 words) for hiring a blogger?
Does any one knows what is an average productivity standar for a blogger, who many posts per day?
As for the present time because of less opportunities of having a job some are looking for a stable job to earn money.
I am not sure with the job suggestion…..
