A quick congratulations to WidgetBucks ad network for announcing their VC funding today.
I’m looking forward to seeing how the injection of funds helps this already promising ad network to grow in what they offer publishers.
Disclaimer – WidgetBucks is a sponsor of ProBlogger.
Darren,
Fresh fund will develop this ad network to be better… IMO, WidgetBucks is not there yet – Hopefully with the new $10 mil. will better its already promising service.
Cheers!
I no longer use widgetbucks, i left it few months ago since my blog is outside US. They said they will include more ways to monetize international traffic. So let’s see..
First they offer high CPC than adsense & adbrite – http://www.amitbhawani.com/blog/widgetbucks-beats-adsense-and-adbrite/ then the revenue increases further more to 28cents/click on an average http://www.amitbhawani.com/blog/widget-bucks-stats-28-centsclick-minimum/ and at the end of the moment just before payment time they dont allow NON-US publishers – http://www.amitbhawani.com/blog/non-us-publishers-not-to-be-paid-widgetbucks/ wow thats nice and a very honour to all the publishers who helped them in getting those millions of impressions. Thousands of publishers replaced their other ad networks with widgetbucks in a hope to make better revenue but finally were lead to nothing.
In short WidgetBucks sucks because of some wrong policies and announcement of the same at the wrong time. May be they are happy with the number of new signups you are referring to them, which makes them increase their network but they cannot ever reach the other top ppc ad network.
That’s some great news for WidgetBucks. I never had any luck with their ad network and made nothing despite testing among several different types of sites.
They have a good service and a unique take on banner advertising, but it just didn’t work out for me.
@ James : Widget Bucks now offers CPM Pay for International traffic, though its worse than other CPM networks and the main problem with WidgetBucks is the ad impressions tracking since they track very less clicks and ultimately the advertiser is happy and publisher is sad.
Congratulations on the Book, I am sure its great like your Blog. Keep up the good work.
I hope this will help those outside the US to monetize their traffic, WidgetBucks really is promising, but being limited to the US is just uncool.
All congratz goes to Wigetbucks ;)
This is really exciting! I haven’t started using widgetbucks on my blog yet but I’m definitely going to look into it now. Thanks Darren.
I didn’t like the way the widgetbucks ads looked, so I stopped using them. This might be a reason to start looking back into them again.
They might be a nice advertising system. And of what I`ve heard till now , they pay publishers pretty well , but I don`t really enjoy the look of their ads , they aren`t very relevant on my niche either. I thing Adsense performs better than any other contextual advertising , for bloggers and other publishers. To be honest small blogs can earn better from selling private ads , than looking at half a buck a day.
If this makes WidgetBucks a better ad network I might actually start using it again.
this is good news for me ! its been 4 months since i placed the ads in my blog and yet i havent reached 25$ [ excluding the bonus 25 ].hope it improves .
That seems like a LOT of money for an ad network, I think I’m going to check out what they offer because that’s pretty awesome. The problem I think is initially seeing/hearing their name sounds like it’s some stupid bucks/click program which are springing up everywhere but you never know until you check it out I guess, just my first perception.
Improvement will be always happy to hear about and publisher/advertiser will hope for all the best for both side.
Hope it will bring more earning too.
Good news, they need to do something better than Yahoo and Adsense search campaign.
I haven’t tried WidgetBucks but will give it a shot. I think its interesting you are no longer using google adsense on this blog. Just got my account activated for shopzilla, am also trying that for a while to see if it works a bit.
This is really excellent. i haven’t used WidgetBucks in my blog. i will try out
I hate WidgetBucks as they cut nearly 20 publishers as downlines that I have referred to them when I changed my email. I had a new email and changed my current email, they cut all earnings so far and nearly 20 referrals on my account. Anyone had the same problem? Thanks
This is really excellent.but CPM for widgetbucks is less compared to adsense
