Smiley Cat has put together a great idea over at their Comment Design Showcase.
The page is a collection of screen caps from some beautifully designed comments sections which each link back to the blogs that they are from.
It’s great to see them all side by side like that.
nice find. the gallery definitely gives a great deal of inspiration. some blog designs literally put zero effort into the comments section of their pages without realizing that that portion of the page receives the most interaction from readers.
i’m guilt myself for not putting as much effort as i should be into a blog designs comment section. the gallery is worth a bookmark.
Daren – thanks for the link and glad you found it useful.
Personally, I find it very helpful to collect design elements from other sites in order to provide inspiration but enabling you to avoid copying the overall design of the site.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep it updated if times allows!
Nice find, I had not noticed a special design for comments.
If you want to compare design of blogs, at this place you find some of the best wordpress designs: http://www.alexking.org/software/wordpress/themes/blog/index.php Probably some of the comment designs belong to these general designs.
And here are the 404th of the week. A really fun collection of custom made 404 error pages: http://www.plinko.net/404/links.asp?type=otw
I agree with you the way you view the issue. I remember Jack London once said everything positive has a negative side; everything negative has positive side. It is also interesting to see different viewpoints & learn useful things in the discussion
These comment designs are very nice but I was wondering How I would go about creating one of these of my own?any help would be appreciated.
