Hi Darren,
I started my first blog (http://www.FollowSteph.com) about 7-8 months ago. It’s related to the company I founded and its been pretty successful. In that time frame it’s grown to over 12k unique visitors a month, which isn’t bad considering I post weekly.
I also started a partnership blog about 2 months ago (http://www.PluggedInGeneration.com). And I’m expecting to start 2 more partnership blogs within the next month or so.
So far so good.

I have been blogging for six months. I created a weblog just to see if I could do it. I never imagined that a few months later, I would be publishing on two sites simultaneously.

I started what I call a protoblog in 1994! It was a column I did for an ISP called “One Useful Thing and One Cool Thing” that became “That’s Useful This Is Cool” when I struck out on my own. Did that till 1998 and in 1999 started my current main blog The New Homemaker.
Since 2001. Built and or participated in 30+ blogs since then.
Coming up on five years in March.
I had a personal blog three years ago which was merely daily life nonsense. I started BusinessBits in December of last year and just recently closed it and moved back to my own personal site (this time with less nonsense… I think?).
So, for an audience of more than 5 people, a little over a year now.
I started a whole 3 months ago with the one blog and have created another 2 blogs just this month.
Two years last November.
I’ve been blogging for just under two months. I’ve heard a lot of comments about how it takes a long time to get a lot of traffic. I post daily, with targeted content in a sub-niche – the product management angle on software development projects and process.
If other commenters would like to share some anecdotal data on traffic levels it would help me know if my blog is doing ok.
In the last 16 days (we moved to our own domain 16 days ago) we’ve had 25,000 hits, 15,000 page views, 3300 visitors from 500 unique IPs (in 28 countries).
1) On a scale of 1 to 10, how are we doing wrt getting traffic?
2) Which of those stats is actually the most relevant? I’ve been assuming that it’s page views.

I stated my blog, jslogan.com, on December 8, 2004. It’s been an incredible 13 Months! I’ve won a blogging award, found new clients on both coasts, and met fellow bloggers I now call friends. Further, I’ve found networking opportunities otherwise unknown and joined two blogging networks. In all, I post daily at three blogs.
I find it interesting that I don’t consider myself a blogger. Rather I think of myself as a professional that blogs; I guess because blogging supports what I do, it doesn’t make me what I am. I don’t know what psychology exists in that perspective, but I know I really enjoy publishing posts :-) It’s a fantastic way to document thoughts and ideas.
Blogging let’s me explore with others in ways unimagined. It’s helped me with my profession and brought a level of awareness to my offering otherwise unknown to thousands.

I came across your site last week and thought I would give blogging a try. I’ve been in technology for years and a webmaster in education for the past year. I posted one pretty good post and got it listed on a great industry resource. I have been seeing close to 500 unique visitors a day since then. Thanks for the great content

I started blogging two years ago before I knew what blogging was (I called them web journals). I started on Xanga, then moved over to Blogger at which I own several blogs as of late.
I’ve met many people from around the world through blogging, and loved to surf the blogosphere so much I made a blog detailing what I found: bloggerdelights.blogspot.com/
Although I am not a six figure blogger, I enjoy it tremendously. Blogging has become more than a late night pleasure–it’s become my favorite hobby.

The first incarnation of blog based on MovableType was started in 2003.
Technically blogging since November 2004, however it was a private blog. I started just barely 2 months ago, learning blogging wasn’t easy for me at first. My blog is all about the geek stuff, hardware, software, internet, mobile, etc. Update once every few days, few titles every updates, and very few visitors.. T_T

I started using blogger in 2001, but I was blogging before that using a text editor and FTP; that makes five to six years. It’s still more of a hobby than any kind of serious revenue stream, but this blog prompted me to add in some adsense ads: actually picking a niche (instead of what I find interesting across a range of categories) is the next step down that path.
I started our home business/internet marketing blog (Kristie T’s Home Biz-A-Pa-Looza http://www.webmomz.com/blog/ about 1 month ago. I already have about 1000 visitors a month coming to it. It’s starting to kick in some nice Adsense revenues. As an author and authority in my field, I see blogging as an essential now if you want to be taken seriously. It used to be, “Do they have a website?” Now the question is, “Do they have a blog?” Blogging has been the right decision for our business!
Been blogging on and off for a year or so over at BPS Designs.
It’s my personal web-design blog and it’s just had a facelift. Totaly CSS based now as opposed to table based.
Been blogging for 884 days (ticker at the top of my page). Started with Noah grey’s Grey Matter, then went to a pMachine free version. That lasted until I got comment spammed. At the same time pMachine gave away their paid version with comment spam protection, been using that ever since. I blog partly to leave something behind for the descendants, being a family tree nut. I was lucky enough to find a diary from my ancestors from the 1800’s and it was really cool to step into their world in a small way. I thought it would cool to try and do the same thing. I also blog because I’m probably addicted now and it’s likely good therapy (tongue in cheek) to have a place to ramble. You do have to be careful what you say because your wife, mother, boss and the entire world can see it.
Just over 6 years ago, and I have the archive.org to prove it :) I’m now on my fourth blog (I wish I’d stuck with the original, knowing the Google stuff I know now!)
Thing is, it wasn’t called blogging back then. I don’t think that term came around till 2001 or so. The small online community I was involved in called it e/n (standing for ‘everything and nothing’) and it was basically blogging but without a purpose.. just links to juvenile videos and weird stories. /usr/bin/girl was one of the early ones I actually still remember reading..
Oh, and the funny thing is, even after all that time, I’m still Z-list :) Just because you’ve blogged a long time doesn’t mean you’re any good at talking to other bloggers or writing anything interesting ;-) So, new bloggers, remember.. it’s not the time, it’s just in how good you are.
As of today, I have been blogging for 466 days! I started the first AllThingsFinancial on Blogger on 10-13-2004. I moved it to WordPress and Dreamhost last August. It has been a frustrating and joyous ride at the same time.

I been blogging a long time, but not before I was born.
Since I’ve been blogging my spelling has improved so much that I hardly spell anything wong now, which is so cool! My big brother says I finally have brains, but I had them before, I think.
I have been running a website called http://www.nepalisite.com for soem years now, and have been running google ads there for more than 2 years.
I always wanted to share my thoughts and share what I have been reading on internet. Thus, I started to blog since Dec 2005. Its pretty late but why to wait longer.
I also wanted to test how the google ad will work, since I had success on my main site.
As far as the revenue, its not impressive yet (on my blogs). I know I still need to work on increasing the posts, and traffic.
I m trying.
I also started to blog on a different site also.

I’ve technically had my site since 1998, so eight years this August.
I have been blogging since two years.
I don’t have a blog yet, I’m in the process of getting content together first before I start one.
It won’t be done for money initially, but I may decide to try and get some income from it later – and I am under no illusion that it will make me a fortune and I can retire from it!

Your blog Darren has helped me tremendously because it is written in an easy to follow style that is helpful to newbie bloggers like myself. I check it an average of three times per day for new tips and suggesstions from yourself and your readers that can help me improve my blog. It is much appreciated, and keep up the good work.

It’s also recently undegone a remodel and the blog is still in the beginning stages but I’ve caught the blog buzz! So much so that I wil be launching a few more blogs in the coming weeks. Five years to be exact, come March 10, 2006.
I had a weblog way back when you could read all of them in about 15 minutes a day.
I have been doing this for a bit over a year now. Pretty fun and love how fast it updates. Keeps everything nice and fresh.
