Blog Herald reports that Pheedo and BlogHer have started up an ad network for female bloggers. Duncan doesn’t like the idea – but points to Trudy W Schuett’s comments.
Personally I think it’s an interesting concept which I’m not sure I really get.
Are the advertisers going to agree to only appear on female blogs? I guess there would be some advertisers who would appreciate being able to target this demographic so it may work out ok for them, but I’d suspect that the wider advertising community would be looking to target a wider audience.
Something to watch on with interest. Whilst I’d like projects like this to get up and off the ground more I have a suspicion it could be another of the numerous blog announcements that gently fades away along with numerous other blog advertising network ideas that I’ve heard of lately – time will tell.
Quick answer: since BlogHer is a community that is open to anyone, the ad network is open to anyone.
