  1. That quite a lot of exposure for $50! I had noticed a bit on an increase in the amount of jobs, so I hope the job board’s popularity is on the increase!

  2. I have to agree with Tom, this is a great deal. Unfortunately, most people don’t have the $50 to invest into advertising.

Have you ever considered lowering the rate to something that would allow more users to post their ad?

    • Hi James – thanks for the feedback. To be honest I’ve been thinking it’s probably too cheap if anything. Most of the social media job boards going around charge $50-$200 to list a job from what I can see.

Most of the people advertising for bloggers to work for them have a budget, they’re paying bloggers to work for them, so to pay $50 to get exposure to a 100,000+ network is pretty decent. As an insight, last time I advertised for a blogger I had 90 applicants, about half of whom I could probably have employed if I were looking for that many. Just over $1 per lead is pretty decent in my experience.

i guess it depends what you’re advertising for – if you just want to find a guest poster you might not pay for an ad, but if you were looking to employ someone to write 10 posts a week for say $500 ($25k per year), a one off $50 ad is probably pretty decent. Some of those advertising are looking for multiple bloggers so it becomes even more affordable.

In the end I get what you’re saying but I guess I’m looking to provide a service for companies with budgets so think $50 per ad is pretty decent, if not too cheap.

  3. Thanks for taking the time to respond to my comment Darren! I suppose I understand where you are coming from – you have a nice site going here with a nice following and thus people are willing to pay the price to be seen by your readers.

And as I said in my original comment, I do agree that it is a good deal and if I had $50 and were looking to hire a few bloggers, I would more than happily pay to post on the ProBlogger Job Boards.

  4. I think the $50 is great value. I posted an ad yesterday afternoon and received one amazing person who exceeds my requirement and another person who fits a role I had which means I won’t have to place an ad now.

I think $50 is great, but perhaps a premium model where your ads stay near the top or something could certainly fetch more.

  5. Hi Darren,
With the response rate you are getting to postings on your job board $50 is a good deal. Your are offering a direct opportunity to advertisers to promote directly to people who have what they need. Many advertising systems are not as pin pointed. Also, it can stressful to find a person to fulfill a position so $50 to find someone is a good deal and you must have the $50 on hand if you are in the position to hire someone.
    Cheers,
    David
P.S. I like Sean’s note about offering a premium model.
