29% of ProBlogger Readers Outsource Part of Their Blogging

Posted By Darren Rowse 28th of March 2010 Reader Questions 0 Comments

Earlier in the year I asked readers whether they outsourced any part of their blogging in a poll. By outsourcing I was talking about ‘paying‘ someone else to do something on your blog.

Here are the results after 2195 responses.

I was actually a little surprised that the number was so small because in the introduction to the poll I included things like ‘blog design’ in what could be included in outsourcing.

Here are the types of things that those who said ‘yes’ said that they outsourced:

  • tech/managing the backend (updates, plugins etc)
  • product creation/design
  • writing of posts – staff writers
  • writing of posts – ghost writing
  • blog/logo design
  • marketing
  • comment moderation
  • SEO
  • administrative tasks
  • editing/proofing posts
  • selling advertising

  1. Do you have a detail percent for each category?
I think writing of posts, logo design, and marketing got the highest.

  2. We suffer over at ours from loads of traffic but very few commenters apart from our own group. Maybe this will help them? Love the blog.

  3. I have recently started outsourcing some of my content writing, not my main post, but minor post that answer frequently asked questions.

  4. I suppose the same ideas could be applied to someone that offers no products but only advertising space on their blog. I guess that could be considered as a product
