  • Great conversation, Darren and Dan. How easy it is to forget that buying dog food on sale is no bargain if you don’t own a dog. Thanks for the reminder that linking quality content to business objectives should never be forgotten.

  • Wow, what a brilliant interview, and what a great communicator. I’m overwhelmed – I placed ‘got to work on this’ tick against everything mentioned here. Content, relevance, generosity, helpfulness, the business itself. It’s so hard trying to find just that thing that is going to distinguish my blog from all the others that are on the same theme. I feel it’s like stabbing in the dark, knowing that at some point you’re going to strike the diamond, but the only way to strike it is to keep on, and on, consistently. The interview itself demonstrates the importance of the personal story – I love that Dan’s story starts as a story of hitting rock bottom. Oh… so much to learn… and I also feel that, being way closer to 50 than I am to 25, I’m at disadvantage. I don’t know that I’ll ever have as much tech or social savvy as the generations that are born with a smartphone hardwired into their brain.

Darren, I have a question which is not related to this podcast, but maybe you can help. It’s How to Block Spam Referrals on Google Analytics. I’ve followed the advice provided on a few websites, but it isn’t working. More than half of my referral traffic is coming from Spam, and I just don’t know what to do about it. Maybe this is a job for WP curve? Any advice would be most appreciated.
