2016 sees the return of the virtual ticket for ProBlogger Event. We know it’s a reasonable investment to travel to the Gold Coast, especially if you’re not in Australia! The Virtual Ticket will help those in our community to still access the great content, even if they can’t attend.
You can become an affiliate for the Virtual Ticket which is a great way to help subsidise your own cost of attending. The Virtual Ticket is USD$229 (approx AUD$299) and we are paying a referral of 33%.
Please see the following on how to sign up and tips and guidelines for promoting.
How to Sign Up
- Sign up via our site as an affiliate.
- Once you’re signed up you’ll have access to your own Affiliate Area with your link to promote the virtual ticket.
- There are also some banners and a text link which you can add to your site under ‘Creatives’ in your Affiliate Area menu.
Guidelines and Tips for Affiliates
My main request is that you keep your promotions personal, relevant, non spammy and non hyped. Please do not post your affiliate link to ProBlogger Facebook Groups, Event Page or #pbevent hashtag on Twitter as this is where our event community and conversations are already happening and where we have an established line of communication with our community.
For best results – I highly recommend that you are attending (or have attended) the event or are purchasing the virtual ticket. You’ll have more success promoting it if you’re familiar with the event, genuine in your recommendation and/or willing to purchase it yourself first.
A Few Tips from Previous ProBlogger Affiliate Programs
In analysing the affiliate sales figures and watching the different approaches that people are taking so far I make the following observations which I hope might be helpful:
- Those doing the promotion via email are converting best. While blog posts and tweeting the offer are also converting it seems for this promotion email is king from where I’m sitting.
- Most of the top affiliates have all given quite personal recommendations that show that they’ve experienced the product, or why they’ve purchased.
- There is often quite a bit of promotion on Twitter – this has been surprising in how many sales it has driven yet it is very much for a few minutes after the tweet. Those doing best with Twitter are tweeting during peak times and doing multiple tweets over a number of days to reach their full network. Again, please note that it’s your network we’re hoping to reach, not our existing network following our #pbevent hashtag.
- Multiple promotions seem to be working well – what I mean by this is that one of the top affiliates is past years posted on his blog, emailed his list and had done a few tweets. They didn’t all go out at once but over 3 days. This seems to have reinforced the promotion to his readers and alerted different parts of his network to it.
