We are looking for a talented and passionate Commerce Writer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our growing commerce content.
Role Overview:
As a Commerce Writer at VICE.com, you will be responsible for creating engaging and informative content that connects our audience with the best products and services available.
You will work closely with our editorial and commerce teams to craft articles that are both compelling and commercially viable.
Your content will help guide our readers in making informed purchasing decisions, while also aligning with VICE's voice and editorial standards.
This is a contract role that will start on a per-article basis during a 30-day test period and will transition to a more permanent role if you are a good fit.
NOTE:
- Must be able to write 9,000 words/week.
- Must be based in North America (if not, do not apply)
- Must be comfortable writing sexual wellness content
Key Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and publish high-quality commerce content, including product reviews, round-ups, and buying guides.
- Research and identify trending products and consumer interests that resonate with the VICE audience.
- Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure content is accurate, informative, and aligns with VICE's tone and style.
- Optimize content for SEO to increase visibility and drive traffic to the site.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of commerce content, using insights to improve future articles.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging products to keep content fresh and relevant.
- Work with affiliate marketing tools and programs to integrate commerce content effectively.
- Must be comfortable writing sexual wellness content (ex. sex toys)
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of proven experience as a commerce writer producing product-focused content for reputable publications (with published articles to back it up).
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices and how to implement them in content creation.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for staying informed about the latest trends in various product categories.
- Familiarity with affiliate marketing and e-commerce platforms.
- Ability to analyze data and use insights to improve content performance.
- Creative thinker with the ability to produce original and engaging content.
Required Skills:
- Experience with content management systems (CMS), such as WordPress.
- Previous experience working in a digital media environment.
