Stephanie Dolezal

I​ have over four years of experience as an Appeals Writer for a Durable Medical Equipment company where I specialized in researching patient accounts, billing and coding requirements and writing detailed appeals in order to get claims approved for payment. I have experience writing clear and concise letters that include multiple attachments, explaining in detail various technical terms.
I​ have a Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where I studied environmental policy with a minor in English. While there I wrote for the pre-law club newspaper and took several writing classes. During college I studied abroad to both India and the Turks and Caicos Islands, where I studied resource management and kept detailed travel logs.
I spent several years working in a bookstore where I wrote compelling book reviews and engaged with patrons in order to promote books and authors.
I​ also have experience in a legal setting, as a client support specialist at a debt settlement law firm. I specialized in logging hardships that impacted a client's financial situation. This required open communitcation with clients and the ability to understand and reiterate said hardships in a demonstrative and sympathetic way.
As a mother of two young children, I have an interest in gentle parenting, breastfeeding, childbirth and postpartum care. I also find joy in interior design, cleaning, and DIY projects. I like to read and write fiction, science fiction and fantasy. My hobbies include kayaking, hiking, swimming and travel.
