My name is Brennan. I graduated with honors from Washington College with a degree in English and Music where I wrote avidly for my school's newspaper, The Elm. I have experience in creative writing, journalism, and critical essays, and in 2022 I received the William W. Warner Prize for creative writing on nature and the environment. I can write well about a variety of topics, be it current affairs or close readings and analyses of texts, and I am dedicated to further developing my skills as a writer.
Education
I graduated from Washington College with honors in English and Music. There I honed my skills as a writer, constantly reading texts and submitting critical essays, examining and summarizing both fiction and non-fiction texts. I became a skilled close reader and learned how to break down complex ideas succinctly while still remaining engaging, thorough, and informative.
Experience
As a staff writer, I was tasked with writing weekly articles on a variety of topics--current affairs, politics, food, lifestyle, media, culture, etc. I not only gathered information from online research, but also conducted in-person interviews. I learned how to synthesize complex topics and ideas and write about them clearly, concisely, and informatively.
