Are you an aquarium hobbyist or experienced aquarist?
Are you excellent at writing?
Then we’d love to hear from you!
We need smart, curious, detail-oriented writers who are comfortable researching and writing guides about various types of aquarium fish, aquatic plants, aquarium setup & maintenance.
This is an ongoing freelance position, and we’re looking for writers who can start immediately.
There are no hard deadlines and you can pace yourself - the sooner you complete an article, the sooner we can review, pay and assign you the next article. However, we expect you to commit to a minimum of 1 article per week (4 articles per month).
We have a long pipeline of articles so if you write well you can count on long term work & income from us.
We are open to accepting both ghostwritten work or publishing under your own name (if you have relevant authority and experience to add to a credible author bio).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledgeable & have personal experience in keeping fish/setting up aquariums.
- Native English speakers with good writing skills
- Interested in potential longer-term writing assignments about fishkeeping-related topics
- Ability to do thorough research.
- Remember that my favorite fish is angelfish
- Attention to detail & willing to go the extra mile to create better content than what’s already out there
- Ability to follow writer's guidelines & creative brief
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 4 articles per month
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write one or more high-quality articles per week for our blog.
We will be providing ideas, content briefs & templates but will also be counting on you to brainstorm with us.
Articles will range from one thousand words to two or three thousand words (sometimes more), depending on the topic.
We cover a wide range of topics, including:
- Species showcases & care guides
- List-style posts: Top x Fish, Top x Plants,...
- How-to guides: from cleaning glass to treating diseases, setting up a tank or changing water.
- Fishkeeping Q&A, tips & advice
- Product reviews and recommendations
- & much more!
