Are you an experienced gardening writer with a passion for plants?
We are looking for gardening writers for a new website in the urban gardening niche. Topics we will cover include houseplants, container gardening, edible gardening, and design. We aim to be the go-to resource for new, young gardeners without massive backyards that want to fill their available space with healthy, happy plants.
The Role
Writers will deliver 3-4 articles per week between 1000 and 2000 words. Most will be ‘How To’ articles or list-based articles - such as ‘How To Grow Rosemary Indoors’ or ’10 Best Houseplants For Your Office’ etc – with a few product reviews or buying guides per month.
We’re looking to form a long-term relationship with an experienced writer that carries the same passion for gardening as the rest of our small team. We offer a consistent workload, supportive environment, and space to grow and expand your role as the website grows.
Our Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for writers that meet the following criteria:
- Some experience writing in the gardening niche. Qualifications are not required, but an understanding of the basic concepts of horticulture and gardening is beneficial.
- Great research skills. There is a lot of inaccurate gardening information on the internet - we aim to be an authoritative resource that doesn’t perpetuate gardening myths or inaccuracies.
- Speaker of native or fluent English.
- Can commit to writing at least 3 articles per week.
- Experience with WordPress preferred.
