Description
Do you have decent writing chops and a love for music? Then here's a chance to combine the two.
Dramatik is a creative media company, and we're looking for a freelance content writer to join the team for our flagship music site.
For this position, you don't need expert knowledge of an instrument per se, just a love for listening to, researching, and geeking out about music - then capturing it in concise, insightful prose.
Ideally, you'll like most types of music (ok, perhaps not thrash metal). Our writing style is snappy, knowledgeable, and a little quirky.
Finally, our mission is to spread music as a force for good in the world. If that rather hippy-dippy vision floats your boat, then you'll probably fit right in :p
Requirements:
- Ideally native English speaker (ideally from US, Canada, or UK) but if you're very fluent - despite English not being your first language - then we'd love to hear from you.
- 2+ Years Writing Experience (better if you've had a bit of experience writing, but we're not opposed to taking on first-timers if everything else fits)
- Passion for music
- Good research skills and attention to detail
- Reliable (very important, we don't do chasing)
- Interest in growing and developing as a writer (you'll get the byline for the articles you write so it's a chance to develop your profile too)
- Ability to write 2 - 5 articles per week (articles are around 2000 words each)
- While most of the music we write about is very 'Western-centric' (rock, soul, pop, indie, hip hop, etc.) we love Latin music and plan to publish more about Salsa, etc in the future - if you have knowledge/love for Latin grooves, then brilliant.
Job Benefits:
- Competitive rates (starting at 4 cents per word) with potential to increase over time
- You write about music (if you're a music geek, this won't feel like work)
- Prompt payment for completed work
- Steady flow of work
- Flexible work schedule from anywhere in the world
- Be part of an exciting, growing brand that is destined for greatness :-)
