I'm Josh Stanton, co-founder of Screw The Nine To Five alongside my wife, Jill. We help people successfully transition from employee to online entrepreneur.
Jill and I both love speaking and being on camera, however, we understand the importance of publishing written content as well.
Right now, Jill and I are focusing full time on podcasting and video, therefore we are looking for someone to handle written content on our behalf.
THE MISSION:
Our goal is to build out the written arm of our publishing business in 3 phases:
Phase 1: Create a consistent content schedule on existing publications related to business, marketing and entrepreneurship in general (guest posts and featured articles like this one on entrepreneur.com - https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/319017)
The purpose of this phase is to develop a consistent contribution schedule on the best platforms to help drive direct traffic and build backlinks for SEO reasons.
Phase 2: Create a consistent content schedule on our own site. Right now we are producing very little written content and your job will be to produce at least one article a week.
The purpose of this phase is to create high-quality, in-depth content that targets keywords to help bring in relevant organic traffic to our site.
Phase 3: Open up the contribution arm to attract talented writers who want to produce content on our platform.
The purpose of this phase is to increase the frequency of content being produced on our site from weekly, to daily, to multiple times a day through guest contributions. You will transition into an editor during this phase.
TRAINING:
The first step will be to get you onboarded through a 2-hour orientation call with Josh.
From there, communication will move to Slack and workflowy. We hate meetings and prefer that everyone who works for the company has freedom and autonomy to get their work done.
We also have a training system that can be used when you run into any roadblocks.
COMPENSATION:
As this is an internship and therefore a great opportunity to work for an established online brand, the knowledge, and skills you will acquire should be taken into consideration.
If you are able to produce results, there could be a 6-figure salary at the end of the road for you.

Compensation will start at $50/article (500-1000 words). We estimate you will be producing around 10 articles a month initially, with that number increasing over time.
When we move into phase 2 and we are happy with your performance, we can negotiate a salaried position with bonuses.
