Please consider this correspondence and accompanying resume as a formal request for consideration of a writing position with your organization. It is with no lack of confidence I present myself as an employment candidate. My thirty-three years of work experience as a professional educator/librarian and 25 years concurrently as a freelance writer have allowed me to perfect my organizational, oration, instructional delivery, and discourse expertise. I am proud of my well-honed writing skills used by my employers to complete state and federal reports as well as to secure funding for various projects from endowment sources. My largest award to date is $300,000.

A brief perusal of my vitae will confirm that I have had a reputable and interesting career. For example, a position in the curriculum office of Ypsilanti Schools was created for me - where I was charged with organizing a community committee to create a magnet school of arts. It was accepted upon a presentation to the school board, and the school opened the following year. Several years later I was employed at Vandenberg Elementary School in Southfield, Michigan. We were honored by a personal visit from President George W. Bush in 2002 for excellence. Ultimately, each of my years of teaching was filled with delightful experiences, and I am confident I left students with indelible memories of their school years.

I retired in 2009 after which I devoted my time fully to freelance ghostwriting but returned to the classroom after I moved to Phoenix in 2016. I am currently in year three with the Union Elementary School District and serve as the grade level team lead. My students continually demonstrate excellent growth on the Benchmark tests and the AASA state assessment. My focus is informational reading and writing but delivering instruction in all subject areas.

Regarding my writing - I have been ghostwriting academic and other papers for the past twenty years - many medical and biology theses and articles, speeches, personal tributes (heartwarming and amusing), college entrance essays and more. As an academic ghostwriter I have completed degrees in nursing, business, general studies, humanities and more. I was retained by two law firms to keep up their 250-word entry blogs (using WordPress) daily for three years, received a $2500 contract to write an online course on the subject of decision making, a second $3200 contract to write an in-depth three module class on philanthropy, and a third on grammar and journalism. I am extremely proud to report that I also received a part-time contract from the Department of Defense to do item writing to test incoming service members as well as a contract to write for an ACT tutoring company.

My assignments vary daily. In the past 10 years I have completed 2 chapters of a college sociology textbook, four chapters of a high school geography text, a chapter in a high school economics textbook, a state and national financial test for a middle school competition, and a series of articles on psychological disorders for a DSM-5 encyclopedia – all for different publishers across the country. I have edited a 140-page book about a plane crash, a book on relationships, separate dissertations in business administration and at least 100 medical, MBA and law school applications. My favorite project was the completion of a 5-story children’s series about a girl named Chanelle that was purchased by an audiobook company. I have also penned hundreds of children’s writing samples for state tests. In the end, I have thousands of completed writing samples and would be delighted to forward upon request.
