Elizabeth Neil Lewis

Hi, I'm Neil, and my writing life has taken me all over the map. I graduated from Notre Dame with an honors degree in English and Creative Writing, throughout my studies seeking to marry critical theory with my own experimental, hybrid-form creative prose. During my college years, I wrote grant proposal after grant proposal in efforts to gain support to travel internationally for self-made writing residencies, and ultimately was granted funding for a combined three years between London, Chennai, and a remote island outside of Homer, AK. These diverse living experiences spawned a diversity of writing desires and capabilities, and ultimately led me to pursue my own creative work while copywriting for two years for an immigration law firm in Chicago. This work was technical, research-based, and mostly concerning the attributes of my clients in fields like bioengineering, astrophysics, and cardiovascular medicine. Of course, I know nothing about bioengineering, astrophysics, or cardiovascular medicine, but this role taught me how to become an apparent expert on any subject through concise, clear writing. Since launching into a career in hospitality management, my writing has been used mostly in the social media space, helping to brand various restaurants and bars via Instagram and website development.
