Love writing? Love online research? You’ll love this project!

We're seeking a freelance copywriter to ghostwrite high-quality blog posts for a home improvement related website. Potential exists for long-term ghostwriting if it’s a good fit for both parties.

  • You’ll be given an article name and a specific format/outline for each post.
  • You’re responsible for researching the topic and drafting a 1000 - 2,500 word article depending on the topic and intent of the article. Average word count per article is 1500.
  • You’re responsible for including suitable images (from the public domain) for the article. Typically one image per article.
  • You’re responsible for including a list of research references that may be cited (if needed).
  • Articles will be published on a website under a pseudonym. You will not be credited.
  • Articles written are intended to help home owner enthusiasts make informed remodeling or renovation decisions using credible information and thoughtful recommendations.
  • Articles should be written in first person so they align with other personal blog posts.
  • You will be required to submit between 4-5 articles per week.
  • You will receive a compensation of $0.02 per word via PayPal. You will be compensated for every single word written however there will be an upper word count tolerance limit for a given target word count per article that you will be compensated for.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Native English speaker/writer
  • Knowledge of general home improvement topics is appreciated but not required
  • Conversational-yet-professional writing style
  • Efficient and enthusiastic writer who creates quality first-drafts on deadline
  • Ability to write authentic content that provides real value to readers (vs. rework of other Google results) N.B. There will be no compensation for rework of other articles found on other sites.
  • Follow the provided article briefs and style guides closely
  • Correct grammar, typo-free, and fun-to-read copy a must
  • Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) appreciated but not required
  • Open to feedback and willing to adjust content and/or writing style as needed
  • Comfortable working 100% virtually, communicating via a project management system, video calls, and working with an editor/project manager
  • Interested in potential longer-term writing assignments about home improvement related topics
  • Obsessive about avoiding plagiarism/duplicate content while researching and writing
  • Ability to follow a supplied style guide (will send upon hiring)
