Your Best Digs is a fun product testing and product review company and we're expanding! YourBestDigs.com is a subsidiary of Siege Media, a content marketing agency named one of the Fastest Growing Companies in San Diego in 2017, Inc 5000 Fastest Growing Companies in America and San Diego's Best Places to Work. We're looking to add a motivated, remote freelance writer to help write superb content solely for YourBestDigs.com.
Responsibilities:
- Write 5,500-6,500 word in-depth reviews on specific types of home products after TESTING them. Categories will likely span small appliances, electronics, bed, bath, yard, etc.
- Research and determine what makes a good product
-Methodically and thoroughly test a group of products for all the features and details the average and not-so-average consumer would care about - You'll work from home, but will be responsible for shipping products to/from our headquarters in California.
- Important: There will be rigid due dates to finish writing reviews. Do not apply if your schedule is too unpredictable.
The *perfect* candidate will:
- Have experience writing product reviews or technical content, with a touch of personality
- Have discerning tastes and strong attention to detail when it comes to using and buying products
- Have effective communication skills
- Be experienced with the internet, social media
- Be able to quickly and accurately type, to write reviews and e-mails
- Have excellent command of the English language, not requiring grammar edits
- Have experience publishing web content on WordPress or similar CMSs
- Be organized and have a superb attention to detail
- Be familiar with webmail, gmail
- Get along well with our team members. We're a relaxed, yet "get stuff done" type of group.
Bonus skills (not required):
- Have photography or videography skills
- Have an existing social presence to help distribute written reviews and also establish credibility as a reviewer
This is a freelance, telecommuting, contractor position, and we prefer that you're able to commit at least 15-20 hours a week to this as we can provide as much work as you can handle. We are looking for people who plan to have at least 6 months of availability on this project to make the training time worth it for both of us. Pay rate is DOE. We are looking to hire as soon as you're ready.
